    3. WAS EMMA'S SECOND HUSBAND CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS SETSER WHO WAS ALSO MARRIED TO STELLA MUSICK? Obituary: The Miller County Autogram Sentinel, August 1988 Emma B. Page Hicks, 102, died Wednesday, April 6, 1988. She was a life-long resident of Pulaski County and had lived at the Waynesville Nursing Center for the past two years. She was born Jan. 15, 1886 to Benjamin F. and Charity Dye Page, the third child in a family of eight. She married William Ichord in 1907. He died in 1918. In 1924 she was married to C.C. Setser, who also preceded her in death. In 1954 she married John L. Hicks, who died in 1958. She taught school for 28 years at Big Piney, Bloodland and Crocker. She professed her faith in Christ in 1902 and was baptized in the Big Piney River. She joined the Hopewell Baptist Church and later transferred her membership to the Waynesville First Baptist Church. At age 73, Mrs. Hicks began a 28-year career as a writer. She started with the Pulaski County Democrat, which was later purchased by the Daily Guide. Her column eventually was called "Jesus and the Kingdom of Heaven." She was writing three regular columns for the Daily Guide until her health forced retirement. The other two were "Waynesville News" and "Early History About Medicine." Surviving her are: a daughter, Ina Siering of Waynesville; a son, C.C. "Lum" Setser of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a step-son, John A. Setser of Tuscumbia; a step-daughter, Sarah Rapp of Sedalia; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday at the Waynesville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Othal L. Hodson and the Rev. Wilbur Harbaugh officiating. Burial was in the Hopewell Cemetery at Pig Piney.
