Obituary: The Miller County Autogram-Sentinel, February 1985 A nearly lifetime resident of Tuscumbia, Ida Maude Hix, 90, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 1985, at Memorial Hospital in Jefferson City. She was born Oct. 13, 1984, in Tuscumbia to Philip and Sarah Riggins Hauenstein. On June 13, 1919, she was married in Tuscumbia to Byron H. Hix who died Aug. 20, 1976. Mrs. Hix lived in the Tuscumbia area all of her life until she moved to the Senior House in Jefferson City three years ago. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Miller County Barracks 1442, Veterans of World War I. Surviving her are a daughter, Janet Buthod of Jefferson City; a sister, Sarah Shillermann of St. Louis; and three grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Rudolph Beard officiating. Burial was in the Tuscumbia Cemetery.
