This obit was posted earlier: Obituary: unknown paper December, 1955 TO HOLD RITES TODAY FOR THEODORE ABBETT Funeral services will be held at 3 p. m. Sunday at the Mt. Zion Church near Iberia for Theodore Abbett, 84, who died Friday morning at Charles E. Still Hospital in Jefferson City. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Abbett, who resided at 112 Buchanan St., was a retired Missouri Pacific Railroad employee. Death was attributed to a coronary thrombosis. A native of the Tuscumbia community, Mr. Abbett is survived by one son, Sherman Abbett, Tuscumbia; one daughter, Mrs. Maude Burnett, Denver, Colo.; one stepson, Fred L. Heard, Jefferson City; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Ruby Maupin, Jefferson City; 13 grand children and 26 great-grandchildren. Mt. Zion Cemetery Theodore Abbett 1871-1955 Lula's death certificate lists Wm. H. Reed and Annie McKee as her parents. However, I had Lula's last name as Beard (don't know where I got that) but can find no record of her being previously married to anyone named Beard. Makes me wonder if Fred L. Heard is a Beard? 1920 census, Cole County, has Theodore Abbett and wife Lula plus two children, Fred L. age 10 and a daughter, Ruby, age 12. These must be Lula's children by a previous marriage. Living under the same roof is Cyrus Reed age 37, his wife Minnie, 20 and a daughter Dorothy 1/12. 1910 Theodore is living with his first wife, Mary Lena Nalley, m. 7 Oct 1894. She died July 18, 1916, so Theodore married Lula between 1916 and 1920...I have 24 Nov 1919 but failed to note where I got that information.
