Obituary: The Miller County Autogram-Sentinel, September 1986 Thelma Lee Elliott, 72, of New Bern, N.C., formerly of Iberia died Saturday, Sept. 20, 1986, at a hospital in New Bern. She was born June 24, 1914, in Miller County to Wade and Ethel Reed Williams. On May 11, 1937, she was married in Tuscumbia to Roy W. Elliott, who died March 20, 1983. Mrs. Elliott was a retired high school teacher. She taught history and science for 35 years, retiring in 1970. She had lived in North Carolina for the past seven years. Mrs. Elliott held a Bachelor of Science degree in education from the University of Missouri and was a member of the Missouri State Teachers Association and the Ulman Baptist Church. Surviving her are two sons, John Elliott of New Bern, N.C., and Dr. James Elliott of Columbia; a sister, Wilma Warren of Eldon; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Stevinson- Mossman Funeral Home with the Rev. Barry Pennington officiating. Burial will be in Gott Cemetery. Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
