Obituary: Jefferson City Post-Tribune, September 2000 Ivan Laverne Bowlin, 74, Eldon, died Sept. 20, 2000, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach. He was born Feb. 26, 1926, in Rocky Mount, a son of Don and Martha Louise Jobe Bowlin. He was married June 19, 1943, in Eldon, to Lela Cross, who survives at the home. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a lifetime member of the DAV and the American Polled-Hereford Association. He attended the Baptist Church. Other survivors include: one daughter, Judy Stinson, Cameron; two sons, James Bowlin, Parkville, and Mike Bowlin, Butler; one brother, Lenvill Bowlin, Kansas City; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Rekus Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Randall Bunch will officiate. Burial, with military honors will be in Rocky Mount Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or the DAV.
