Obituary: The Eldon Advertiser, 1977 James Benjamin Hodge, 77, of Eldon, died Tuesday at Charles E. Still Hospital (Jefferson City). Mr. Hodge was born at Henley on Sept. 23, 1899, son of Linz and Minnie Wilson Hodge. He was married to Carrie Mae Hinds on March 7, 1920, at Sedalia. Survivors include: his wife of the home; six sons, James Hodge, Kansas City, Benny Hodge, Charley Hodge, Kenneth Hodge, Truman Hodge and Tommy Hodge, all of Eldon. Nine daughters, Mrs. Ruby Coons and Mrs. Delora Spencer, both of Independence, Mrs. Myrtle Eth, Warsaw, Mrs. Gloria Miller, Saginaw, Mich., Mrs. Mary Lou Demoss and Mrs. Ruth Lathrom, both of Kansas City, Mrs. Nellie Plemmons, Mrs. Linda Vaughan, and Miss Kathleen Hodge, all of Eldon; one sister, Mrs. Maude Jones, Denver, Colo.; 37 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Mr. Hodge was a longtime resident of the Eugene community before moving to Eldon. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at the Ninth Street Christian Church, Eldon, with Brother Craig Woolsey officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Garden Cemetery under the direction of Griswold-Kays Funeral Home, Eldon.
