Obituary: The Eldon Advertiser, unknown date (1966?) Funeral services were held Sunday for Mrs. Lula Binford White, 69, rural Eldon, who died last Wednesday at Latham Hospital in California. Mrs. White had been a patient in the hospital for 10 days after suffering a stroke. A retired school teacher and a noted antique collector, Mrs. White was born June 13, 1896, in Camden County, to Giles and Armina (Miller) Shelton. In 1921 she was married at Independence to A.R. (Roscoe) White, who preceded her in death. A member of the Barnett Christian Church, Mrs. White was a Sunday school teacher for several years. She was also a member of Barnett Chapter 303, Order of the Eastern Star, and past district deputy grand matron; White Shrine, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars auxiliary. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Fannie Bissell of Salinas, Calif.; two brothers, Clifford Shelton of Los Angeles, Calif., and Lemoyne Shelton of Eldon. The Rev. A.L. Alexander officiated at the services at 2 p.m. Sunday at the church. Burial was in Dooley Cemetery under direction of Kays Funeral Home of Eldon. Pallbearers were Emmett Dunstan, Emal Dunstan, Shirley Kidwell, Peter F. Cooper, Dick Werner, and Phil Morgan.
