Obituary: Jefferson City Post Tribune, Tuesday, February 5, 2002 Edmund J. Faherty, 90, Eldon, died Feb. 3, 2002, in Eldon. He was born March 29, 1911, in Tipton, a son of Oscar and Rose Sommerhauser Faherty. Hewas married Oct. 19, 1933, in Jefferson City, to Louise Sanning, who survives at the home. An Army veteran of World War II, he had life memberships in the Eldon VFW Post 2442 and Knights of Columbus. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Eldon. He owned Motor Inn Auto Service, Amarillo, Texas, and was retired from Sanning Enterprises as a maintenance employee. He was involved with 4-H and Catholic Youth. He was a representative for the National Farmers Organization; president of Osage River Flood Control Association; and chairman of County Extension Office. Other survivors include: two brothers, Frank F. Faherty, Kent, Wash., and J.O. Faherty, Lubbock, Texas; and one sister, Stella Kohrn, Independence. Services will bee at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. James J. O'Sullivan will officiate. Burial will be in Greenmore Memorial Gardens, Barnett. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon, with a rosary at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
