Obituary: Jefferson City News Tribune, Sunday, January 13, 2002 Johnnie E. Boan, 79, Eldon, died Jan. 12, 2002. He was born Dec. 29, 1922, in Eldon, a son of James Roscoe Boan and Sarah Parsons Boan, He was married March 11, 1947, in Eldon to Viola Joyce Boots Crawford Boan, who survives at the home. Boan, who attended Cooper Public School, worked as a farmer and a carpenter. He was a member of Mt. Carmel and the First Baptist Church of Eldon. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Other survivors include: two sons, WiIliam David Crawford, Kingman, Ariz., and Ernest Maborn Crawford, Baldyn, Miss.; four daughters, Martha Robinson, Colleyville, Texas, June Baker, Jefferson City, Joyce Meisenheimer and Margaret "Maggie" Kausie, both of Eldon; five brothers, James Oliver Boan, Bloomfield,. Kenneth Boan, Joe Boan, Buel Boan and Gary Boan, all of Nebraska; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon. The Rev. Randall Bunch will officiate. Burial will be will Dooley Cemetery in Eldon. Memorials are suggested to Missouri River Hospice.
