Obituary: The Eldon Advertiser, October 1976 Robert Gerald Haynes, 59, Rte. 4, Eldon, died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1976 at Boone County Hospital in Columbia. He had been hospitalized for three weeks. He was born Sept. 11, 1917, at Etterville to Graydon R. and Vida D. (Berry) Haynes. April 4, 1941, he was married at Tuscumbia to the former Ila Dawson, who survives. Mr. Haynes, a lifetime resident of the Etterville community, operated a farm. He also had worked for many years as a carpenter in the Jefferson City and Columbia areas. A year ago he joined the State Office of Design and Construction. He attended the Etterville Christian Church. Survivors include his wife, four sons, Robert Gene Haynes, Etterville, James D. Haynes, Kaiser and John M. Haynes and David Haynes, both of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Rebecca McDonald, Jefferson City; a brother, Ted Haynes, Eldon; and four grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church. The Rev. Chester Zarger officiated. Burial was in the Enloe Cemetery.
