    3. Obituary: The Eldon Advertiser Mayme K. Atkin, 85, Eldon died Thursday at Memorial Community Hospital. She was born July 1, 1904, in Enon, a daughter of Byron and Ida Alice Bond Scott. She was married March 6, 1927, in Olean, to John H. Atkin who died Dec. 10, 1962. She taught in Moniteau County rural schools for five years. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Eldon. She was a past president of the Christian Women's Fellowship and First Vice President of Quad County Christian Women's Fellowship. Survivors include: two sons, Jerald Atkin, Jefferson City, and Bob Atkin, Raytown; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church, Eldon. The Rev. Ronald E. Crooks will officiate. Burial will be in Olean Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church of Eldon. note: Mayme Atkin died 17 May 1990 (per Doris Taggart) Obituary: The Eldon Advertiser Pearl J. Scott, 74, Eldon, died Wednesday at her home. She was born April 2, 1914, in Cole County, a daughter of Jasper and Liza 'Betty' Hackney McMillian. She was married Nov. 20, 1930, at Eugene, to Embra L. Scott, who died July 15, 1973. Mrs. Scott was a homemaker and a member of the Olean Christian Church. She was a resident of Eldon since 1962. Survivors include: four sons, Leonard Scott, Lafayette, Ga., Robert Scott and Michael Scott, both of Eldon, and Randy Scott, Chicago, Ill.; four daughters, Doris Taggart, Fenton, Betty Brady, Hot Springs, Ark., and Kathryn Clark and Vivian Martin, both of Eldon; one sister, Irene McDaniel, Kirkwood; 31 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon, with the Rev. Eldon Myers officiating. Burial will be in the Enloe Cemetery, Russellville. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association.
