Obituary: The Eldon Advertiser, Thursday, December 15, 1949 Miss Fanita Miller, familiarly known as "Pet", died at her home in Eldon Saturday evening, December 10, following a paralytic stroke Wednesday. Her funeral was held at the Phillips Funeral Home Monday, Rev. A.L. Alexander, pastor of Lake Ozark Christian Church conducting the service. Burial was in Eldon Cemetery. Fanita Loraine Miller was born at Linn, Mo., June 20, 1898, the daughter of Samuel and Margaret Jones Miller. She came to Eldon with her parents in 1910 and has been a resident of the community since that time. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Frank, who died in military service in 1918 during World War I; two sisters, Minnie on May 12, 1938, and Almeda, on October 9, 1944. Surviving are a brother, Cell Miller, of Eldon; and three cousins: Mrs. Gus Barnhouse of Eldon, Paul Jones of Linn and Mrs. Harry Griffith of Jefferson City. When Eldon Library was organized, Miss Miller became one of the first librarians and served in that capacity for several years. She was also a capable artist and assisted her brother in operating the Miller Photo Studio, taking charge of the business while the brother was in military service during World War I. Those attending the service from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Paul Jones and Mrs. Mary Jones of Linn, and Mrs. Harry Griffith of Jefferson City.
