Death Notice: The Iberia Sentinel, May 15, 1941 Tennessee Marella Barnhart was born in Maryville County, Tennessee, August 29, 1852, and departed this life at her home in Maries County, May 11, 1941, being at the time of her death 89 years, eight months and 12 days old. She was united in marriage to Asyrie Pendleton in 1871 and to this union eight children were born-five boys and three girls-two of whom preceding her in death, Vineecie and Mrs. Perry Haley. Her husband also died a number of years ago. The children surviving are G.H. Pendleton, Tulsa, Okla., V.E. Pendleton, Mrs. William Copeland, Cleve Pendleton and O.W. Pendleton of Owensville, Mo. She is also survived by 35 grandchildren, 50 or more great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren. She united with the Christian Church sixty-seven years ago and lived a consecrated Christian life until the end... Funeral services conducted by Rev. Neddie Sooter of Kansas City, were held at the Camp Ground Church in Maries County Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, and burial was in the Stokes Cemetery. The Hedges Funeral Home of Iberia had charge of arrangements. Pallbearers: Golden Pendleton, Clay Haley, Ivan Copeland, Clyde Pendleton, Emmet Pendleton, and Lyhn Haley.
