News Article: The Miller County Autogram, Thursday, February 16, 1922 John M. Gardner, well-known farmer who resided two miles northwest of Iberia, died at his home Sunday night after a brief illness of pneumonia at the age of 65 years. Mr. Gardner was married when a young man to Miss Mary Helton, who still survives. To the union four children were born who also survive. They are Roe, James and Fred Gardner and Mrs. C.E. Shockley, all of near Iberia. Funeral services were conducted Monday at the Christian Newlight Church in Iberia by Rev. W.M. Sooter and burial was made in the Iberia Cemetery, His sister, Aunt Jemima Setser, died February 4, only eight days previously, of the same affliction. A brother, Felix, is seriously ill and not expected to live byt a few days.
