Obituary: The Eldon Advertiser, Thursday, August 11, 1938 The funeral of M.F. Taylor, one of the oldest residents of Independence neighborhood, will be held Thursday at the Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon with the Rev. A.L. Alexander, pastor of the First Christian Church, officiating. Marion Founton Taylor was born on the farm where he spent his entire life, northwest of Eldon, October 17, 1853, and departed this life at the age of 84 years, 9 months, and 22 days, Tuesday evening, August 9, 1938. He was the son of Collier and Delilah Taylor and is survived by two sons, L.G. Taylor, of the home, and Elmer Taylor, of Nebraska, and a daughter, Mrs. Vannie Bowlen of Sedalia. Mr. Taylor was a man who could spend a long life in a community with respect to himself and his family. His honesty of purpose and his good will made for him a large circle of friends throughout the years. His neighborly service and his influence in the community was his best heritage.
