Obituary: The New Iberian, October 5, 1978 Frank H. Malmberg died Wednesday, September 27, 1978, at the Miller County Nursig Home near Tuscumbia, Mo. Frank Malmberg was born May 6, 1894 to John and Ruah (Smith) near Crocker, Mo. At the time of his death he was 84 years 4 months and 21 days of age. On Nov. 24, 1920 he was married to Alaska E. Dake who died Sept 22, 1945. To this union one daughter, Mabel was born. On June 5, 1947 he was married to Effie (Dake) Rowden Hamlin who died April 2, 1953. On Dec. 11, 1956 he was married to Lucy Dose who died July 11, 1968. Mr. Malmberg was a retired miner, carpenter and farmer. During World War I he served in the U.S. Naval Air Force. He was a Charter Member of Freemont Watkins Post 105 American Legion of Iberia, Mo. for 51 years and in February of this past year was awarded a golden certificate by the Legion. Survivors include one daughter, Mabel, son-in-law George Yoakum, one grandson James Yoakum and granddaughter-in-law Ruth, two great-granddaughters, Valerie and Sandra Yoakum of Florissant, Mo. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, two half-sisters Cora and Idris and 3 brothers, Fred, Oscar and John. Surviving brothers include Everett of Iberia, Otis and Claud Malmberg of Granite City, Illinois and Clyde of San Antonio, Texas. He is also survived by a host of nephews, nieces and friends. Services were held at the Stevinson Funeral Chapel in Iberia Friday, Sept. 29 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Earl Brown and Rev. Gene Edwards officiating. Burial was in the Union Cemetery near Iberia, Mo. with full Military services of the American Legion and V.F.W. of Iberia. Pallbearers were Walter Dake, John E. Malmberg, Bob Malmberg, Randy Malmberg, Clarence Malmberg and Otis Malmberg.
