Nancy, My husband and I thought the same thing when we read that she was unable to locate any descendants. They were probably standing on some of Black Jim & Mildred's descendant's property when the pictures were taken. I would guess there's at least a dozen descendants within a couple mile radius. Black Jim & Mildred were my husbands great great grandparents through their dau Elizabeth Mae Wall. Good article though. Hello Becky I saw your note to Nancy about Faith, spotted that your husband was a descendant of Black Jim, but couldn't locate where he fits on the tree. I am researching the Wall family for my good friend Dianne Wall who descends from Black Jim via Cat Wall and Price Wall. Bettie May Wall Cochran was born March 23, 1869 in Mercer County, Va.and died on Thursday January 11, 1945 at her home near Iberia at the age of 75 years, 9 months and 18 days. She was united in marriage to Solomon Lyon Cochran February 16, 1887. To this union eight children were born. Her husband and oldest son, Clifford James Cochran, preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her passing four sons and three daughters, namely: Alta Abbott of Baxter Springs, Kans., Mildred Duncan of Iberia, Venice Duncan of Iberia, Omar Grant, and Willard Cochran of Iberia, and Bill Cochran of Brumley, also three brothers and four sisters, namely: Jesse and Frank Wall, both of Iberia, Cat Wall of Swedeborg, Mrs. Cora Miller of Iberia, Ollie Miles of Swedeborg, Stella Workman of Valley Park, and Ida Sixkiller of Oklahoma; 35 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, besides a host of other relatives and friends. He was a member of the Mt. Union Church of Christ. He was a lifelong resident of Miller County.
