Obituary: The Eldon Advertiser, Thursday, December 15, 1949 Mrs. Myrtle Apperson, wife of T.C. Apperson, retired Rock Island trainman, died unexpectedly at her home in Eldon early Friday morning. She had suffered from a heart ailment for the past few years, but appeared to be apparently in usual health and had prepared the evening meal when she was stricken and did a short time afterwards. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Phillips Funeral Home with Rev. Clark Sanner, pastor of the Christian Church, conducting the service. Burial was in the Dooley Cemetery. Myrtle Lillian Kern was born March 225, 1893, at Blue Springs, Mo., the daughter of Frederick and Ollie Gore Kern. She was married to T.C. Apperson in Kansas City, Mo., March 21, 1921, and since that time has made her home in Eldon. Mrs. Apperson was a member of Eldon First Christian Church and a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen. Besides Mr. Apperson, she is survived by a son and daughter by a former marriage. They are Fred C. Rogers and Mrs. Mae Pritchard of Pueblo, Colo. Her mother, Mrs. Fred Kern of Pueblo, Colo., four grandchildren and two brothers, Charles Kern of Missoula, Montana, and Elmer Kern of Los Angeles, Calif., are other surviving members of her family.
