    3. Obituary: The Eldon Advertiser, January 1989 Helen M. Bruce, 72, of Jefferson City died Monday, Jan. 30, 1989. She was a former resident of Henley. She was born Sept. 2, 1916 in Taos, Mo. to Frank and Christina Talken Lootens. She was married In Jefferson City to Charles Otto Bruce, who died April 12, 1970. Mrs. Bruce owned and operated a general merchandise store in Henley for many years. She moved from the Henley community in 1983 to make her home in Jefferson City. She was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Mary's Home and the Ladies Sodality. Surviving her are a step-son, Harold Bruce Sr. of Kansas City; two step-daughters, Mary A. "Toni" Link of New Bloomfield and Barbara Baer of Cincinnati, Ohio; a brother, Edward Lootens of Henley; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Mary's Home with the Rev. William Korte officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. The rosary was prayed at 3 and 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Mary's Home.
