Autogram May 2, 1912 Wreck on Bagnell Branch The freight train on the Bagnell Banch which was late Tuesday of last week, leaving Eldon about 6 o'clock p.m. wrecked near Jefferson City about 8:15 Tuesday night almost immediately after the signal whistle had been sounded. A car about the middle of the train left the track, turning on its side against the bank, and leaving some of its trucks on the track.Fortunately. the train had begun to check and the shock of the sudden stop was correspondingly light. The caboose was well illed with passengers, among them two women, one of whom soon after leaving the caboose to walk in, collapsed. MART SCRUGGS, was in charge of the train. The woman was taken care of and the passengers walked on into town, about half a mile to the street car line. Mr. D. F. THOMPSON who had such a close call with ALBRO STEPP and a Rock Island locomotive the Sunday before. D.
