Obituary: The Eldon Advertiser, May 1976 Funeral services for Gertha L. Leuthen, 82, of Kansas City, Kan., were held at 1 p.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. Mrs. Leuthen, a native of Tuscumbia, died Tuesday, May 18, 1976, at a Kansas City hospital. She was born Feb. 14, 1894, at Tuscumbia to John S. and Martha A. (McFall) Brockman. She was married July 29, 1914, at Tuscumbia, to Ilde B. Leuthen, who died Feb 16, 1973. She had lived in Kansas City for 12 years and had also lived in Olean. She was a member of the Olean Baptist Chutch. Surviving Mrs. Leuthen are five daughters, Mrs. Pauline Selix, Kansas City, Mrs. Bernice Hutteball, Pomona, Calif., Mrs. Rayma Melton, Security, Colo., and Mrs. Erma Leach and Mrs. Avonell Cox, Springfield; and eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. One daughter, Marilyn, preceded her in death. The Rev. Roy Weece officiated at the services. Burial was in the Tuscumbia Cemetery.
