Obituary: Unknown Publication, August 1945 Mrs. Hattie Farris, age 78, died at her home in Olean Wednesday, August 29th, after a lingering illness. Harried Belle Brouse, was born in Chatum, Canada, On January 8, 1867. She was the daughter of Reason F. and Lavina B. Brouse. On December 1, 1896, she was married to Alexander H. Farris and to them one son was born, Gale A., who survives. Her husband died March 21, 1938. Mrs. Farris united with the Baptist Church at Greenridge 55 years ago. Besides her son, Gale, of the home, she is survived by one brother and four sisters, George Brouse of Eldon; Mrs. Walter Roark and Mrs. Harvey Roark of Palm Springs, Calif., Mrs. Bill Bishop of Belton, Mo., and Mrs. Will Walker of Paola, Kans. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, August 31, at 2:00 at the Greenridge Church. Rev. J.D. Gilliam, Jr., pastor of the church conducted the service. A choir from the Olean and Greenridge Churches accompanied by Mrs. Harry Rea, sang "Face to Face", "Abide With Me", and "Have Thine Own Way." Pallbearers were Lewis Short, W.W. Walker, Lucian Stayton, W.H. Stayton, Glenn Walker and Harry Rhea. Flower bearers were G.S. and Walter Gene Rea and Bobby Walker. Burial was made in the church cemetery with Phillips Funeral Home Service.
