Mrs. Boan was formerly Mattie Ann Cox, daughter of Bryant and Mary Cox. She was born in Morgan County, near Barnett, December 26, 1873. She was married to James Edward Boan October 27, 1892. To them four children were born. Surviving Mrs. Boan are her husband and three children, Miss Fern Boan of Norman, Okla., Athol Boan of Canon City, Colo., and Sgt. Earl Boan of the U.S. Army now stationed at Fort Benning, Ga. She also leaves two grandchildren, Lewis Edward and Connie Jean Boan. Funeral services were conducted at the Barnett Christian Church Tuesday, February 20, at 2 p.m. by Rev. Dameron.
