    3. Obituary: Unknown Publication, August 1944 The wife of Dr. C. Stevens passed away at their home in Seminole, Okla., Monday morning following a lingering illness. Eva Lena Wyrick was born near Eldon, Mo., January 2, 1874, and departed from this life August 7, 1944. In girlhood she became a member of the Church of Christ, and through the many joys and sorrows of a busy life she was ever a true and steadfast follower of Him who said, "I go to prepare a place for you.that where I am, there you may be also." January 27, 1897, she was united in marriage to Dr. C. Stevens who is left to mourn the passing of a faithful wife a real helpmate, a cheerful companion. She also leaves two sons, Dr. G.E. Stevens of Pharr, Tex., and Dr. Paul J. Stevens of Albuquerque, N.M. Both were here during her last illness. The memory they will cherish is that of a devoted mother and pal. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. D.C. Harrison of Olean, and Mrs. Fred Short of Eldon. She was a member and Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, and until ill health prevented, she was a loyal worker in her church, her home, and her lodge. This was indeed a life well spent, with cheerful words and a smile for all and a helping hand for the needy. Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ, and burial was made in the Seminole Cemetery.
