    3. Obituary: Miller County Autogram, November 2, 1933 Floyd Wall, aged about 65 years, took his own life Saturday night by hanging himself with a rope. He had been despondent and was brooding over the fact that he had sugar diabetes and realized that it was incurable. Mr. Wall had lived all his life on a farm near Faith, west of Iberia, was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jas. M. Wall, and was recognized as one of the substantial farmers of that community. He had gone to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Henry Thornsberry, three miles north of Swedebord, Friday. On Saturday he appeared to be no worse, but he arose in the night to take a dose of medicine. When he failed to appear for breakfast Sunday morning, an investigation was made, and Mrs. Thornsberry discovered his lower limbs dangling below the open portion of the silo chute. The body was fully dressed with the exception of his ht. During the preceding night sometime he had taken down the children's swing, a half-inch rope, and had prepared a noose, then he climbed the ladder in the silo chute, attached toe rope to the step near the top then plunged downward after adjusting the rope around his neck. He fell about twelve feet, and his feet lacked a foot of touching the ground. His neck was broken and there were no disfigurements on the body. When a young man he was united in marriage to Miss Sadie McDowell, who survives him. He also leaves three sons and three daughters-Clarence and Virgil Wall of near Iberia, Claud, who was at home, Mrs. Ernest (Oma) Thornsberry of near Iberia, Mrs. Marion (Pearl) Hopkins of near Ibeia, and Mrs. Henry (Minnie) Thornsberry at whose home the tragedy occurred. He came of a large family and he was the first child to die. Brothers and sisters surviving are: Peachy, Frank and Jesse of near Iberia, W.C. of near Swedeborg, W.H. of Colorado Springs, Colo., Mrs. S.L. Cochran, Mrs. Jas. Miller of near Iberia, Mrs. Walter Workman of near Richland, Mrs. Byron Miles of Swedeborg, Mrs. Ida Sixkiller of Oklahoma, and Chester of East St. Louis, Ill. Funeral services were held Monday at Curry, southeast of Iberia, in the presence of a large number of relatives and friends, and burial was in the cemetery there.
