Obituary: The Eldon Advertiser, October 1988 Boyce White, 96, of Eldon died Sunday, Oct. 23, 1988 at Osage Beach Healthcare Center in Osage Beach. He was born Jan. 20, 1892 in Eldon to Joseph Abraham and Sarah Jane Boyce White. On March 4, 1944f he was married in Mountain Home, Ark. To Chloe Phelina Foote, who died July 19, 1976. Mr. White was a retired farmer and was a lifetime resident of the Eldon community. He was an Army veteran of World War I and was a member of American Legion Post 229. He also was a member of the Eldon United Methodist Church. Surviving him are a step-son, Joseph B. Allen of Eldon; a brother, Joseph R. White of Eldon; a sister, Lillian Jackson of Eldon; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon with the Rev. John M. Haynes officiating. Burial was In Dooley Cemetery in Eldon.
