    3. Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home Web Site, June 2009 Anna Lorene Fancher-Lupardus, age 90, of Iberia, passed away Friday, June 12, 2009, at Lake Regional Hospital. She was born on April 4, 1919, daughter of the late Albert and Effie (Barnhart) Keeth. On May 12, 1939, in St. Louis, she married Jack Fancher, who preceded her in death on November 18, 1985. On June 29, 1994, in Ulman, she married Ted Lupardus, who preceded her in death on January 22, 1996. Lorene was a member of the Iberia Garden Club, the Nimble Thimble Quilt Guild, and the Iberia Eastern Star. Lorene was also a member of Iberia First Christian Church. She is survived by two sons, Terry Fancher and wife Peggy and Jackie Fancher both of Iberia; one daughter Peggy Thompson and husband Tom of Rogersville; five grandchildren, Cory Fancher, Tara Luttrell, Luke Fancher, John Fancher, and Andrew Fancher all of Iberia; and five great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 15, 2009, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Bro. Stan Way will officiate. Interment will be in Livingston Cemetery near Iberia. Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, June 14, at the funeral home.     3. Does anyone have a date for Roy and Vernettia (McGriff) Livingston's death? Unknown Publication, Unknown Date Mr. and Mrs. Roy Livingston of Billings, MO., former Miller countians, were killed in a car-train accident Wednesday afternoon at a Billings Crossing. The accident occurred at 2:05 p.m., as Mr. Livingston was driving south on Rte. 14, and pulled in the path of a westbound Frisco train. Mr. Livingston, 75 and his wife Vernettie, 78, were pronounced dead at the scene. Mr. Livingston was a retired farmer and painter. The Livingstons are survived by four sons, Tennyson of Aurora, Ill., Bennett C. of Granite City, Ill., Roger E. of Beatrice, Neb., and Monte D. of Richmond; a daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Malcolm of Springfield, and 15 grandchildren. Mr. Livingston also is survived by three brothers, Robert of Iberia, J.W. of Tuscumbia, and Stanley of Etterville, and four sisters, Mrs. G.A. Barr of York, Neb., Mrs. G.A. Berry of Tuscumbia, Mrs. Nettye Mace of Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Hazel Woody of St. Louis. Mrs. Livingston is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Carrie Dowins of Adelanto, Calif., and a brother, Brice McGriff, also of Adelanto. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home of Springfield. Services are planned at Billings with burial at Springfield.

    3. Unknown Publication, April 1970 Dora Sterling Machon, age 57, died April 9 at his home near Dixon, MO. Mr. Machon was born May 25, 1912, near Van Cleve, the son of Charles and Susan Lawson Machon. He was married Aug. 13, 1938, to Velma Rowden, who survives. He was a farmer in the Miller County area most of his life where he also worked at Fort Leonard Wood and for REA at Dixon. Mr. Machon was a member of the Church of Christ of Iberia, Mo. Survivors are a son, Charles Arthur Machon, Dixon; a daughter, Mrs. Viola Bilyeu, Fairborn, Ohio; a half-sister, Mrs. Mary Kindworthy, Waynesville; a brother, George Machon, Dixon and three grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Stevinson Chapel, Iberia, with the Rev. Jack Duncan officiating. Burial was in the Bray's Cemetery, near Iberia under the direction of the Stevinson funeral Home of Iberia. Pallbearers were Delbert Machon, Carl Machon, Joe Shiverdeck, Orville Pendleton, Joe Rowden and Larry Jarrett.

    3. Unknown Publication, November 1969 Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Brays Advent Christian Church near Iberia for Mrs. Nora D. Warman, 76, of Norwood, a former resident of the Iberia community. Mrs. Warman died Friday, Nov. 7 1969, at her home. She was born Jan 28, 1893 near Brays, the daughter of Charles and May (Arendall) Smith. She was married to Frederick Warman, an Advent Christian pastor and also a college professor in Boone, N.C. He preceded her in death in 1945. Mrs. Warman was active as a music teacher at the time of her death, and was a member of the Missouri State Teachers Assn. She is survived by two sons, Donald Warman of Blair, Neb., and Arendall Warman of Hickory, N.C.; one brother, Isaac C. Smith of Iberia, and six grandchildren. The Rev. Aldon Veach officiated at the services. Burial was in the Brays Cemetery under the direction of Stevinson Funeral home of Iberia.

Mrs. Lewis, 74, died Friday, July 26, 1968, at the Normandy Osteopathic Hospital in St. Louis where she had been a patient since July 22. She was born Sept. 24, 1893 in Miller County near Iberia, the daughter of Joseph and Josephine (Shockley) Blankenship. On May 12, 1911 she was married to Jasper Lewis who preceded her in death in June 1958. Mrs. Lewis was a member of the Hickory Point Baptist Church near Iberia, and was formerly a member of the Iberia Baptist Church. She worked at Fort Leonard Wood and at the Lake of the Ozarks. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Morton of St. Louis, Mrs. Faye Lawson of Rte. 3, Dixon, and Mrs. Glennis Hysore of Bellefontaine Neighbors; seven..balance of copy missing

    3. Unknown Publication, 17 April 1973 Funeral services were held Friday afternoon for Edward Helton, 88, a lifelong resident of the Iberia area. He died Tuesday, April 17, 1973, at his home in Iberia. Mr. Helton was born May 9, 1884 near Iberia, the son of Jim and Mary (Belk) Helton. He was united in marriage on Aug 16, 1908 to Clara Newhart, who survives of the home. Mr. Helton farmed in the Iberia area before moving into town in 1961. He was a former member of the Brays Advent Christian Church, and was presently a member of the Iberia First Christian Church. Surviving, other than his wife, Clara, are three sons, Lonnie E. Helton and Charles T. Helton, both of St. Louis, and Walter Helton of Festus; four daughters, Mrs. Nellie McDonald and Mrs. Ruby Gardner, both of Iberia, Mrs. Sylvia Lusk of Milan, Tenn., and Mrs. Mabel Cudziol of Gary Ind.; one sister, Mrs. Jennie Copeland of Columbia; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Stevinson Chapel in Iberia with the Rev. Wilford David and the Rev. Gary Gulley officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery near Iberia. Pallbearers were Joseph Cudziol, Jr., John Cudziol, Jerry Gardner, Jim Gardner, Richard Lusk and James Helton.

Unknown Publication, November 1969 Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Iberia Church of the Nazarene for James Alfro Eads, 81, of Iberia, one of the county's pioneer automobile dealers. He also was one of Miller County's early private pilots and plane owners. Mr. Eads died last Wednesday, Nov. 26, 1969, at Memorial Hospital in Jefferson City. He was born Sept. 15, 1888 near Vienna, the son of Joseph T. and Fanny I. (von Gremp) Eads. He was married May 9, 1909 to Lou Bond who survives at the home at Iberia. They settled in Iberia where he pioneered in the initial construction of telephone lines in the area. He owned one of the first cars in this part of the state and in 1913 obtained a Ford franchise which he held for 546 years, making him one of the senior ford dealers in the United States. Mr. Eads also held a Shell jobber's franchise for 45 years. In 1932 he purchased his first airplane, and held a pilot's license for 30 years. During this period of time he treated many of his friends to their first airplane ride, and had his own landing field, Eads Airport, at Iberia. Mr. Eads was baptized at the Hughes Methodist Chapel in Maries County on Oct. 18, 1890 and was a charter member of the Iberia Church of the Nazarene. Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Henry Ford Eads of Denver, Colo., and James W. Eads of Iberia; five daughters, Mrs. Vera Atwill and Mrs. Dean Woolery of Iberia, Mrs. VEta Claiborn of Jefferson City, Mrs. Catherine Adams of St. Louis, and Mrs. Mary Hemenway of Eureka, Calif.; one half-brother, Herbert Eads, of Oceanside, Calif.; one half sister, Mrs. Erma Bade, of Union; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The Rev. A.O. Shearer and the Rev. Leonard Davis officiated at the funeral services Saturday. Burial was in the Iberia Cemetery under the direction of Ste4vinson Funeral Home of Iberia. Honorary pallbearers were Yeager Deardeuff, Sherman Denton, Fred Meredith, Will Jarrett, Walter Moss, Nathan Hendley, C.W. Sooter and Walter Snow. Active pallbearers were Raymond Gardner, Tom Humphrey, Ralph Herx, Shirrell Woolery, Oral Atwill, Robert Eads, Wayne Vaughan, and James Mote.

    3. Unknown Publication, August 1968 Eura Iven Vaughn, 67, died Monday, Aug. 5, 1968, at his home near Iberia due to an undeterminable amount of bee stings suffered while mowing his lawn. He encountered a swarm of bees, resulting in the fatal stings. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First Christian Church in Iberia. Mr. Vaughn was born June 15, 1901 in Miller County near Iberia, the son of Albert and Myrtle Blankenship Vaughn. He was married May 21, 1921 at Tuscumbia to Orpha Gardner who survives. He moved to St. Louis in 1923, and worked for the McQuay-Morris Ammunition Plant, Commonwealth Steel, Ford Motor Co., and Cinch Plastic Co. In 1955 he retired and moved back to Iberia. He had been a member of the First Christian Church since 1966, and a former member of the Hickory Point Christian Church. He also was a former member of Modern Woodmen of America. In addition to his wife of the home near Iberia, Mr. Vaughn is survived by one son, Duane Vaughn, St. Charles; two daughters, Imogene Horner and Ina Ruth Vaughn, St. Louis; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and five sisters, Oma James and Fern Powell of Iberia, Thelma Brooker of Columbia, Lorene Morrow of Clayton, and Delphia James of St. Louis. His parents, three brothers and four sisters preceded him in death. The Rev. James Bade officiated at the funeral services Wednesday. Burial was in the Livingston Cemetery near Iberia under the direction of Stevinson Funeral Home of Iberia. Pallbearers were Gerald James, Remus James, Bill Powell, Tom Powell, Dan Russell and Don Larson.
