    3. Jefferson City News Tribune, March 1977 James Lee Blackburn, 67, of 101 E. Newton Ave., Eldon, died Monday, March 21, 1977, at Charles E. Still Hospital, Jefferson City. Funeral services for Mr. Blackburn will be held at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) at Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon. He was born Oct. 18, 1909, in Rook County, Kansas, to Clarence Lee and Rosa Myrtie Harris. He was married March 14, 1931, at Eldon to Ruby Kallenbach, who survives. Mr. Blackburn managed an MFA plant at Fortuna many years and was with the MFA plant at Eldon several years. At the time of his retirement in 1976 he was manager at the Eugene Anchor Mill. He was a member of the Saline Valley Church of Christ. In addition to his wife he leaves a son, James D. Blackburn, Birmingham, Ala.; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Apperson, and Miss Mary Blackburn, both of Eldon; and four grandchildren. Bro. Murl Nash, Bro. Ted Sewell and Bro. James Frisby will officiate at the services. Burial will be in the Tuscumbia Cemetery. Jefferson City News Tribune, March 1878 Mildred Ruby Blackburn, 68, who had been in Birmingham, Ala. Since Feb. 21, died Thursday, March 23, 1978, at Brookwood Hospital there. She was born Feb 26, 1910, at Tuscumbia to John and Minnie A. Nixdorf Kallenbach. March 14, 1931, she was married at Eldon to James D. Blackburn, who died March 21, 1977. Mrs. Blackburn, who had made her home in Eldon, was a member of Saline Valley Church of Christ. Surviving are her son, James D. Blackburn, Birmingham, Ala.; three sisters, Stella and Ruth Kallenbach, both of Eldon, and Mrs. Hazel Curty, Etterville; three brothers, J.F. Kallenbach, Tuscumbia, and Henry and Edison Kallenbach, both of Eldon; and four grandchildren. Preceding her in death were a brother, Raymond Kallenbach and a sister, Mrs. Nell Jarrett. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon with Bro. Murl Nash officiating. Burial was in Tuscumbia Cemetery.

    3. Unknown Publication, April 1966 Funeral services for Oliver Richard Kallenbach are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at the Tuscumbia Christian Church. The 83-year-old Mr. Kallenbach died Tuesday at his home near Eugene. The Rev. Arvil Elrod will officiate with burial in the Tuscumbia Cemetery. Mr. Kallenbach was born Feb. 27, 1883, in Tuscumbia, the son of John and Christine Artz Kallenbach. He was married to the former Miss Carrie Bell, Feb. 23, 1908, who survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Emma Irene Menteer, Henley; two sons, Ernest H. Kallenbach, Eldon, and John Lloyd Kallenbach, Eugene. Other survivors include five brothers, Roland Kallenbach, Valley Center, Kan., J.F. Kallenbach and C.E. Kallenbach, both of Tuscumbia, Henry Kallenbach, Eldon, and Ray Kallenbach, Hugerton, Kan.; four sisters: Miss Stella Kallenbach, Moberly, Miss Ruth Kallenbach, Jefferson City, Mrs. Ruby Blackburn and Mrs. Hazel Curty both of Etterville; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Unknown Publication, December 1973 Mrs. Carrie Kallenbach, 90, of Eugene died Monday at a Camdenton nursing home. Mrs. Kallenbach was born Sept. 1, 1889, at Eugene, daughter of John and Emma Walker Bell. On Feb 23, 1908, she was married at Eugene to Oliver R. Kallenbach who died April 19, 1966. She was a lifetime resident of Miller County and a member of the Saline Valley Church of Christ. Survivors include: two sons, Ernest H. Kallenbach, Eldon, and Lloyd Kallenbach, Eugene; one daughter, Mrs. Irene Menteer, Jefferson City; two grandsons and four great-grandchildren. The funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Phillips Funeral Home chapel, Eldon, with Bro. Murl Nash officiating. Burial will be in the Tuscumbia City Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Heart Fund.

He was a farmer in the area in the 1870's. Married to Maranda Atwood and they had 5 children. I beleive he passed away before 1880 because Maranda and the children were living in Hannibal by than.     3. Obit.- Unterrified Democrat, August 1978) " Louis Herman Kemna, 85, St. Elizabeth, died Sunday, July 30 (1978) at an Eldon nursing home. He was born May 10, 1893 in St. Elizabeth, the son of Frank and Anna Heisler Kemna. In July 1943, he was married to Marguerite Delaloye, who survives. Mr. Kemna was a retired farmer and had lived in the St. Elizabeth area most of his life. He was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church, St. Elizabeth and the Holy Name Society. Other survivors include: one brother - August Kemna of St. Elizabeth; and one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Wilde of Tuscumbia. Services were held Tuesday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, with burial in the parish cemetery."

    3. Obituary: Jefferson City News Tribune, Sunday, August 24, 1997 "Beata Angeline Kliegel, 74, Jefferson City, died Friday (August 22, 1997) at Capital Region Medical Center-Southwest. She was born Jan. 16, 1923, in St. Elizabeth, a daughter of Frank X. and Mary Rehagen Kemna. She was married Oct. 29, 1949, in Jefferson City to Edward Joseph Kliegel, who died Jan. 27, 1989. An accomplished seamstress, she was employed with Singer Sewing County in Jefferson City and designed costumes for numerous local theatrical productions. She taught swimming lessons to children and adults for 20 years from her home. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic church, the St. Ann's Sodality and the church council. She also was active in the Girl Scouts, Helias Band Boosters and Meals on Wheels. Survivors include: three daughters, Mary Kay Burns, Affton; Maria Hursig, Albuquerque, N.M.; and Maureen Olsen, Moorhead, Minn.; one son, Frank Kliegel, Brooklyn, N.Y.; one sister, Alma Hughes, Jefferson City; two brothers, Herman Kemna, Jefferson City and Norbert Kemna, St. Elizabeth; and seven grandchildren. Services will be Tuesday at St. Peter Catholic church. The Rev. William Peckman will officiate. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum. Visitation will be at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Capital Region Medical Center."

    3. Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper - 1971: " Funeral services were held Monday at New Hope Baptist Church near Kaiser for Glen Forrest Jeffries, Rte. 1, Eldon. Mr. Jeffries, 71, died Thursday, May 13, 1971, at a hospital in Fulton. He was born Nov. 27, 1899, the son of Toliver and Mary (Long) Jeffries. On Aug. 17, 1938, he was married to Beulah DeGraffenreid, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Bernal Jeffries of Eldon; two grandchildren; and one sister, Sylvia Jeffries of Iberia. Mr. Jefferies was a member of the Eastside Assembly of God. The Rev. Eldon Myers officiated at the funeral services Monday. Burial was in the new Hope cemetery under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon."
