    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: mountainfolk_1 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.missouri.counties.miller/2385.1.1.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I just happened on this web site last night. I am the aforementioned James Willis and have been trying to get my email address corrected for a good while. Apparently, they haven't had a site coordinator for a while. My current email address is mountainfolk@charter.net I don't know of any relation between Joshua and Mr. Miller. Joshua was definitely not a son-in-law. His wife's maiden name was McIntosh and they came from Greenup County, Ky. When they came to MO around 1858, they settled on the Maries and Miller County line with property in both counties. For those of you who are descendents of the Phillips and Willis line, please send me a direct email at the above address. I would like to compare notes. 3. Obituary, Meta Herald Thursday, 20 January 1944 Obituary of Mrs. Caroline Bax - Owing to a misunderstanding this obituary was delayed for a week: " At 8:50 A.M. on December 28, 1943, Mrs. Caroline Bax was called to her reward by her Creator and Lord, after she suffered patiently for over two years. She was born in the neighborhood of Koeltztown on May 26, 1854. Being at the time of her death 89 years, 7 months and 2 days. Her maiden name was Caroline Wulff. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Joseph H. Bax, son of John Bax. They lived on a farm in Maries County until they retired from active farming upon which they obtained a property in Koeltztown. In this property Mr. Bax opened a general store and had a successful business until age and sickness forced him to discontinue. He preceded her in death 15 years ago. To this union was born eight children, three boys and five girls. Two of these girls died in early childhood. The living children are: Mrs. Margarath Hagenhoff of Meta, Mrs. Mary Schmitz of Argyle and Mrs. Jennie Gregory of St. Louis; Mr. Henry Bax of Kansas City, Mo. and Mr. Robert Bax of Chesterfield, Mo. Upon the death of her husband, Mrs. Bax remained living in Koeltztown until age and infirmity required some one to look after her. She then moved to Argyle to live with her daughter, Mrs. Mary Schmitz until the loving Lord saw fit to call her away from this valley of tears to a more joyful home in eternity to receive her reward for labor rendered in the service of the Lord. At the time of her death she left to mourn her, six children, thirty one grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren. She was a life long member of the St. Boniface Catholic Church of Koeltztown and was an active member in all the parish societies for the spread of God's kingdom here on earth and her own self sanctification. The funeral was in charge of the Meta funeral home. Her remains laid in state at her daughter's Mrs. Mary Schmitz of Argyle until Friday morning, December 31. Then it was taken to Koeltztown at 8:30 where a Requiem High Mass was sung by Rev. Denner for the repose of her soul. Following the Requiem her remains received the beautiful solemn final blessing. After that they were taken to her last resting place, the St. Boniface cemetery. Here her remains were lowered into her grave amid solemn blessing and prayers by Rev. Denner and the faithful. The pallbearers were six of her grand children, namely, Joe Schmitz Jr., Ben, Adolph, Leo, Paul and Raymond Hagenhoff. May the Blessed Lord grant her eternal rest."
