    3. Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper, December 1968 " William J. Luetkemeyer, 74, of St. Elizabeth, died unexpectedly Wednesday, December 4, 1968 at his home. He was born December 19,1893, near Tuscumbia, the son of Anton and Anna Massman Luetkemeyer. He was married may 6, 1919 in St. Elizabeth to the former Miss Emma E. Schwieterman, who survives. Mr. Luetkemeyer was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church, St. Elizabeth. He also belonged to the Holy Name Society of that parish. He was a member of the 20-60 Club and also served on the board of directors of the St. Elizabeth Misouri Farmers Association for more than 32 years. A retired farmer, he moved to St. Elizabeth in 1954. Other survivors include: Three sons - William A. Luetkemeyer of St. Elizabeth, Victor Luetkemeyer of Eldon, and Alfred Luetkemeyer of St. Elizabeth; four daughters - Mrs. Mildred Evers of St. Louis, Mrs. Irene Berkel of Houston, Texas, Mrs. Margie Juergensmeyer of California, and Sister Brenda, S. S. N. D. of Breese, Illinois; one brother - Joseph Luetkemeyer of Lake Ozarks; two sisters, Mrs. Martha Hoer of 339 Walnut Street and Mrs. Agnes Schauwecker of Chicago, Illinois and 34 grandchildren. Services were held Saturday, December 7th at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, St. Elizabeth. Burial was in the parish cemetery."

    3. Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper - 1971: "Mrs. Viola E. Lee, 87, a resident of the Iberia community for more than 65 years, died Wednesday, May 5, 1971, at the Pulaski County Memorial Hospital in Waynesville. Funeral services fro Mrs. Lee will be held Friday, May 7, at the First Baptist Church of Iberia. Mrs. Lee was born June 18, 1883 in Maries County near Dixon, the daughter of the late William H. and Irene (Atwell) Scott. On Jan. 25, 1905, she was married in Miller County to Pleasant Oliver Lee who preceded her in death on Oct. 29, 1962. Mrs. Lee had lived on the same farm in the Iberia area since her marriage. She had been a member of the first Baptist Church of Iberia for more than 40 years. She also was a member of the Sunshine Circle, WPFA Club and Hancock Friendship Club. She is survives by two sons, Wayne Lee and James Mert Lee, both of Iberia; one daughter, Mrs. Daphne Kehr of Alto Pass, Ill.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and one brother, Mert Scott of Kansas City. The Rev. Grady Etheridge will officiate at the services Friday. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery near Iberia under the direction of Stevinson Funeral Home of Iberia. Pall bearers will be James Lee, Bill Montell, James Spears, Sherman Denton, Louie Martin and Gene Martin."

    2. Carmen Ercell Bassman Wright dies Mrs. Carmen Ercell Wrioght, 89, Phoenix, Ariz., who until a couple of years ago lived in Miller Co., died Sunday, November 2, 1975, at a Phoenix hospital. A county native, she was born August 10, 1886, at Tuscumbia to John Casper and Lucy Evelyn (Birdsong) Bassman. She was married April 18, 1909, to Lawrence Alfred Wright, who died May 7, 1947. She is survived by two sons, Gerald V. Wright, Weldon Springs, Mo., and Lloyd A. Wright, Phoenix, Ariz.; two daughters,k Dorothy H. Nichols, Phoenix, Ariz. and Dorris N. Clemons, Kansas City; a sister, Phreda H. Lang, Kansas City; and eight grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Wright will be held at 11a. m. today (Thursday) at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Roy Weece will officiate. Biurial will be in the Tuscumbia Cemetery.

    3. Hi Stan, The centennial of Mary's Home was celebrated in 1983. At the time, the church printed too many copies and I believe they had trouble selling the surplus for a few years. Now they are treasured by folks in the community and it's rare that any surface for sale.     3. Obit., Mid-Missouri, Autogram Sentinel, Thursday, Feb. 12, 1976; " Mrs. Florence Elizabeth Lueckenhoff, 70, of Mary's Home, died Friday, February 6, 1976, at her home. Funeral services were held Monday at Our Lady of Snows Church, Mary's Home, the Rev. Henry Reichert officiating. She was born Sept. (3) 1905, at Mary's Home to August and Magdelene Kurtz Schulte. Feb. 9, 1926, she was married to John H. Lueckenhoff, who died Jan. 7, 1966. Mrs. Lueckenhoff lived all of her life in the Mary's Home community. She was a member of Our Lady of Snows Catholic Church and of the Altar Sodality. Mrs. Lueckenhoff leaves two sons, Lawrence Lueckenhoff, Jefferson City; and August Lueckenhoff, Mt. Vernon, Mo.; four daughters - Mrs. Harold (Lucille) Bungart and Mrs. James (Rita) Clarkston, both of Jefferson City, and Mrs. Carl (Theresa) Rush and Mrs. Leander (Dorothy) Berendzen, both of Henley; six brothers - Richard, Francis and Willard Schulte, all of Eugene; Sylvester Schulte, Wasco, California; Louie Schulte, Axtell, Tex.; and Carl Schulte, Happy, Tex.; two sisters - Mrs. Mildred Boessen, St. Thomas; and Mrs. Ruby Buschjost, Eugene; and 30 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A sister and two brothers preceded her in death. The rosary was prayed Sunday at Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon. Burial was in the Mary's Home Cemetery. Nephews served as pallbearers."

Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper - 1968: " Miss Marlene Emma Luetkemeyer, age 20 years, of Rt. 1, Tuscumbia, passed away Sunday, Sept. 1, (1968) of injuries suffered in an automobile accident on Hwy. 52. She was born May 14, 1948 in Tuscumbia, the daughter of Bernard J. and Lucy Oligschlaeger Luetkemeyer. Miss Luetkemeyer attended St. Elizabeth grade and high school, and graduated in 1966. She was presently entering her junior year at the University of Missouri, where she was enrolled in the school of education. She also worked in the Cole County Extension Office. Marlene was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in St. Elizabeth and the Altar Society. Preceding her in death was her father on July 15, 1954 and one sister, Dorothy, at age 2 years. In addition to her mother, she is survived by 6 sisters, Mrs. Eleanor Beck of Kansas City, Mrs. Mary Ann Beaver of St. Louis, Mrs. Carolyn Johnston of St. Louis, Mrs. Janice Hake of Jefferson City, and Kathleen and Julie Luetkemeyer of the home; seven brothers, Bernard C. Luetkemeyer of Meta, Anton, Richard, Lawrence and Patrick Luetkemeyer, all of St. Louis, and Gerald and Michael Luetkemeyer of Tuscumbia. Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 4, at the St. Lawrence Catholic church in St. Elizabeth with the Rev. Ferdinand Bonn and Rev. John Walsh officiating. Stevinson Funeral Home of St. Elizabeth was in charge. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

You saying Joshua Willis lived on the Maries/Miller county line tells me that it is my John Miller he was executor for. The other John C. Miller lived down in Spring Creek Twp, along the Phelps/Maries county line. Again, thank you for the info. I'm still not sure why he was executor. Do you know when Joshua was born? Perhaps he might be a grandson - my John Miller has many children unaccounted for and Joshua, if young enough, might be the son of one of his daughters. John had quite a few sons and I wonder why one of them wasn't administrator?? So many questions, so few answers. Thank you again, it is another lead I shall pursue.     3. (Oops, I mistakenly sent this one to Maries Co., ) Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper - 1976: " Benjamin Duggan, 77, Dixon, died at his home Tuesday (May 4, 1976). He was born at Brinktown on Nov. 20, 1898, the sib if Edward J. and Christina Luebbert Duggan. He was married to Florence Brandel, who survives at the home. He was a member of the Guardian Angel Church at Brinktown. Other survivors include: two sons, Benjamin M. Duggan and Eddie Duggan, both of Dixon; one sister, Mrs. Clara Hoffman, Brinktown and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at the Guardian Angel Church, Brinktown, with the Rev. Michael McHugh officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. The rosary will be said today in the Gilbert Chapel, Dixon."

    3. Obituary - Jefferson City News/Post Tribune, 4/23/2000: "Augusta M. Kempker, 88, Marys Home, died April 21, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center. She was born Oct. 13, 1911, in Eugene, a daughter of Herman and Mary Doerhoff Schulte. She was married April 26, 1932, in Marys Home, to Jacob H. Kempker, who died Dec. 17, 1960. A member of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church and the Ladies Altar Society, she was a cook at the Marys Home School. Survivors include: four daughters, Linda Bax, Janice Kliethermes, Sally Klindt and Kathryn Lea, all of Eugene; one son, James H. Kempker, Eugene; four brothers, Otto Schulte, Columbia, Fred Schulte, Henley, Elmo Schulte, Eldon, and Herman Schulte, Marshall; two sisters, Lois Motley, Laddonia, and Viola Steenburgen, Boise, Idaho; 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. One daughter, Ann Jurgensmeyer, preceded her in death. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church. The Rev. Clarence Wiederholt will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home, Marys Home, with a rosary at 3 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Hospice Friendship House, 601 E. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church at Folk and married men's sodality. Other survivors include: one daughter, Mrs. Albert Scheppers, Jefferson City; one brother, Leo Koehne, St. Elizabeth; two sisters, Mrs. Henry Fennewald, Meta; and Mrs. Wm. Strumph (sp??), St. Elizabeth; and six grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church at Folk with the Rev. Hugh Behan and Rev. James Wieberg officiating.     1. [MOMILLER] Obituary of Cora Alice Conner Carroll
    2. Eldon Advertiser of July 29, 1943 FUNERAL HELD SUNDAY FOR MRS. WILLIAM J CARROLL Cora Alice Conner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter P. Conner, was born June 26, 1892, and passed away at her home near Barnett, Mo., Tuesday morning, July 20, 1943. She had been seriously ill for about four months. Oct. 21, 1908, she was married to William J. Carroll. To them fifteen children were born. Three of these passed away in infancy, and one son, Charley Clinton, at the age of three years. Mrs. Carroll is survived by her husband and eleven children. Her four daughters; Mrs Orena Haussels of Grover, Mo., Mrs. Flora Sidebottom of Eldon, Mrs. Rosa Williams of Barnett and Miss Lela Carroll of Kansas City, Mo. Her seven sons are; Willard and Robert of Chesterfield, Mo., Walter, John and James of the U S Service, Roe of Eldon and Phines E. of the home. Her son, Roe and daughter, Rosa are twins. Mrs. Carroll also leaves four grandchildren, 2 having preceded her in death, and one step-grandchild; her father, Walter P. Conner, three sisters and three brothers. She confessed her faith in Christ when a young woman, was baptizes and joined the Methodist Church. She was true to her faith throughout the many years of her life, attending church as long as her health would permit. Mrs. Carroll will be remembered as a faithful, loyal wife and mother. She was a devout Christian woman, praying for her family and teaching her children to live right. She bravely sent three fine sons int the service wtih the same hopeful, loving smile of a good mother. Mrs. Carroll was brought to the Kays Funeral Home in Eldon where she lay in state six days waiting the arrival of James and John two of her sons in service., Walter who is also in service could not be reached. The other ten children were present for the funeral service which was held Sunday at 3:00 pm Sunday in Barnett Baptist Church with the Rev. Chester Lindsey in charge. The Barnett Choir sang. Mrs. Carrolls six sons were her pall- bearers. She was laid to rest after a short commital service at the graveside in the Hopewell Cemetery. The family are most appreciative of all the kindness and sympathy shown throughout Mrs. Carroll's illness and death.

Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper, 1925: " August Kessler died Wednesday, February 4, at the residence of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Wulff, near Botsdam, at the age of 72 years, 5 months and 25 days. Mr. Kessler was born in St. Louis where his parents both died in his early childhood days. As an orphan, he was brought to Gasconade County near Stolpe where he grew to manhood. In later years, he moved to a farm near Potsdam where he lived until Aug. 1923 when he sold his farm and made his home with his daughter and family were he died Feb. 4th. The deceased leaves to mourn 5 children and 7 grandchildren besides a host of friends."

Other survivors include: one sister, Mrs. Karen Kempker, Mary's Home; two brothers, Norman Hart, Jr., and Cledis Hart, both of Mary's Home; her paternal grandparents, Hiram and Freda hart, Mary's Home; and her maternal grandparents, George and Minnie Love, Eldon. Funeral services will be Wednesday at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church, with the Rev. Henry Reichert officiating. The rosary will be recited at the Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. Burial will be in the parish cemetery."
