Obituary: The Miller County Autogram-Sentinel, Thursday, May 7, 1987 Emma Alice Pryor, 98, of Route 1, Tuscumbia died Saturday, May 2, 1987 at the Miller County Nursing Home in Tuscumbia. She was born Nov. 2, 1888 at Grove Springs to Carol and Nancy Ann Jones. On Feb. 10, 1907 she was married in Wright County to John Nealy Pryor, who died Sept. 30, 1962. Mrs. Pryor was a Groves Springs resident until 1964 when she moved to Tuscumbia. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Pryor was preceded in death by all five of her children: Ansel, Fred, Harold and William Pryor and Lois Pryor Cunningham: Survivors include seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and a daughter-in-law, Susie Pryor of Kansas City. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Gene Edwards officiating. Burial was in the Shaddy Cemetery near Grove Springs
Obituary: Jefferson City News Tribune, April 1986 Larry L. Livingston, 55, formerly of Iberia, died Tuesday at St. John's Mercy Hospital in St. Louis. He was born Nov. 2, 1930, in Iberia, a son of Berry and Ruth Slawson Livingston. His parents survive in Iberia. He was a 1948 graduate of Iberia High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He had lived in St. Louis for many years, where he was employed as an antique furniture salesman. He was a member of the Iberia Masonic, Lodge No. 410 AF & AM and the Iberia First Baptist Church. Other survivors include: one son, Barry Livingston, St. Louis; one daughter, Lynn Schieffer, Moscow Mills; two step-daughters, Diane Ramey, Linda White, both of St. Louis; two grandchildren and one step-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Stevinson Mossman Funeral Home in Iberia, with the Rev. Haskell Orrick officiating. Burial will be in the Iberia City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at the Stevinson Mossman Funeral Home with Masonic services being held at 7 p.m.

Zelphia Belk Stark, 83, 9f Olean died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. She was born Oct. 25, 1923, in Miller County to Chris and Ethel Fritchey Helton. She was married to Henry Belk and Johnnie Stark, both of whom preceded her in death. Mrs. Stark was baptized at Bray's Advent Christian Church near Iberia. She worked at Brown Shoe Factory in Dixon, Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia and Holiday Inn at Lake of the Ozarks. Surviving are two sons, Ronnie Lee Belk of Freemont, Iowa, and Donald Gene Belk of Iberia; two daughters, Virgie Ruth Lane of Crocker and E. Darlene Crismon of St. Charles; 15 grandchildren and many great and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four sons: Billy Edward Belk in 1941, David Dewayne Belk in 1961, Henry Pete Belk in 1986 and Clay Douglas Belk in 1996. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until noon Friday at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Funeral services will follow at noon with Bro. Gene Edwards officiating. Obituary: The Miller County Autogram-Sentinel, September 1986 Bonnie J. Hopen, 69; of Jefferson City died Friday, Sept. 19, 1986, at Memorial Community Hospital in Jefferson City. She was born Aug. 8; 1917, in Brumley to James R. and Chole Dawson Dickson. On Oct. 20, 1951, she was married in .Harrison, Ark., to An-thony "Tony" E. Hopen, who survives at the home. Mrs. Hopen attended school at Ulman. She had been employed for 36 years as a supervisor and cashier at Montgomery Ward Company, retiring in 1982. In addition to her husband she is survived by a son, Jack E. Smith of Jefferson City; a brother, James R. Dickson of Jefferson City; two sisters; Helen Trees and Pat Michelson; both of Jefferson City; a granddaughter and three grandsons; and four great-grandchildren. He was born April 2, 1905, in Bumpus Mills, Tenn., a son of Clay and Annie George Hinson. He was married May 9, 1936, in Granite City, Ill., to Crethen Humphrey, who survives at the home. He was a member of the Brays Advent Christian Church, Iberia, a member of Masonic Lodge No. 40 AF and AM, Iberia, and a member of Jefferson City chapter No. 34 of the Royal Arch Masons. He worked for 23 years at the Granite City (Ill.) Steel Mill and was a corrections officer for 12 years for the Missouri Department of Corrections, Jefferson City, until his retirement in 1968. Other survivors include a daugh-ter, Leta Tyhurst, and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Brays Advent Christian Church, Iberia. Burial will be at Union Cemetery, Iberia. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6:30-8 p.m. today at the Stevinson- Mossman Funeral Home, Iberia.

She was born Oct. 13, 1984, in Tuscumbia to Philip and Sarah Riggins Hauenstein. On June 13, 1919, she was married in Tuscumbia to Byron H. Hix who died Aug. 20, 1976. Mrs. Hix lived in the Tuscumbia area all of her life until she moved to the Senior House in Jefferson City three years ago. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Miller County Barracks 1442, Veterans of World War I. Surviving her are a daughter, Janet Buthod of Jefferson City; a sister, Sarah Shillermann of St. Louis; and three grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Rudolph Beard officiating. Burial was in the Tuscumbia Cemetery.

Page Hicks, 102, died Wednesday, April 6, 1988. She was a life-long resident of Pulaski County and had lived at the Waynesville Nursing Center for the past two years. She was born Jan. 15, 1886 to Benjamin F. and Charity Dye Page, the third child in a family of eight. She married William Ichord in 1907. He died in 1918. In 1924 she was married to C.C. Setser, who also preceded her in death. In 1954 she married John L. Hicks, who died in 1958. She taught school for 28 years at Big Piney, Bloodland and Crocker. She professed her faith in Christ in 1902 and was baptized in the Big Piney River. She joined the Hopewell Baptist Church and later transferred her membership to the Waynesville First Baptist Church. At age 73, Mrs. Hicks began a 28-year career as a writer. She started with the Pulaski County Democrat, which was later purchased by the Daily Guide. Her column eventually was called "Jesus and the Kingdom of Heaven." She was writing three regular columns for the Daily Guide until her health forced retirement. The other two were "Waynesville News" and "Early History About Medicine." Surviving her are: a daughter, Ina Siering of Waynesville; a son, C.C. "Lum" Setser of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a step-son, John A. Setser of Tuscumbia; a step-daughter, Sarah Rapp of Sedalia; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday at the Waynesville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Othal L. Hodson and the Rev. Wilbur Harbaugh officiating. Burial was in the Hopewell Cemetery at Pig Piney.

Mr. Gardner was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1942 , to 1945. He was a member of the Brays Advent Christian Church and served as a deacon and Sunday school superintendent for the past 20 years. He worked for Hedges Funeral Home and Hard-ware, Iberia, for about 10 years and then worked for Eads Motor Company for 35 years until his re-tirement in 1984. Other survivors include: one daughter, Judy Howk, Iberia; one granddaughter and two grand-sons. He was born Nov. 6, 1910, at Ibe-ria, a son of James and Mathilda Shackleford Forester. He was married Oct. 28, 1938, to Hazel Irene Deuschle, who survives at the home. A member of the Church of Christ, he was a retired painter who worked in the civil service at Fort Leonard Wood. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Stevinson- Mossman Funeral Home, Iberia, with the Rev. Earl Brown officiat-ing. Burial will be in the Livingston Cemetery near Iberia. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the Stevinson-Mossman Funeral Home, Iberia.
Obituary: The Miller County Autogram-Sentinel, March 1987 Ruth Crisp, 82, of Rte; 1, Tuscumbia died Sunday, March 8, 1987 at St. Luke's Hospital in Wisconsin. She was born Aug. 31, 1904 in Tuscumbia to William C. and Fanny C. Edwards Hawken. Mrs. Crisp spent her working years in Kansas City, Kan. She was a 57- year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Mt. Zion Christian Church, the Tuscumbia Senior Citizens; and the Miller County Historical Society. Surviving her are a daughter, Dorothy Pfingsten of Racine, Wis.; four grandchildren; two brothers, Clyde Hawken and Carl Hawken, both of Tuscumbia; a sister, Maude Nelson of Basehor, Kan.; and nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Mt. Zion, Christian Church with the Rev. Gene Edwards and the Rev. Charlie Worstell officiating. Burial was in the Tuscumbia Cemetery. Eastern Star services were held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home.
