Obituary: Jefferson City News Tribune, Friday, April 6, 2007 Clem W. Sanning, age 98, died Wednesday, April 4, 2007, at Jefferson City, Mo. A son of Benjamin and Catherine DeLong Sanning. He was married May 29, 1928, in Mary's Home to Frances Kempker who preceded him in death. He was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church. He farmed, ran a thrash machine, had one of the first combines, ran a saw mill, built cabinets and raised beef cattle. Survivors include: one daughter, Nordelle Sanning Lueckenhoff and her husband Alfred, of Jefferson City, Mo., one daughter-in-law, Martha Sanning of Jefferson City,Mo., eight grandchildren, Patricia Lyles, Dale Francis Lueckenhoff, Donnie Sanning, Darlene Rice, Diane Schnieders, Darrell Lueckenhoff, Dave Sanning and Danny Lueckenhoff, 18 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Louise Faherty of Eldon, Mo.; one brother, Clarence and his wife Nadine of Lee's Summit, Mo. and one sister-in-law, Anna Marie Sanning of Amarillo, Texas. He was also preceded in death by one son, Norman G. Sanning, Nov. 1, 2005; three brothers, Vincent, John and Ray Sanning, and two sisters, Angeline Bungart and Pauline Looten. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home in Mary's Home, with a Rosary prayed at 5:00 p.m. and a Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, April 8, 2007. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 9, 2007, at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church, Mary's Home, with Reverend Clarence Wiederholt officiating. Internment will be in the parish cemetery in Mary's Home.

YEs , we have corresponded in the past. I have little on Peter Carlton other than that he is living with John A. Phillips and listed as son-in-law in 1880 in Richwood Township. they had 4 children. The last two girls died young in Miller county.Carrie died in 1890 and Mary in 1896. Frederick, born in 1883, and Harvey ws born in 1881. I have no further information on either of them. I have death information on the rest of John A. Phillips's other children. I would like to try to track this family to see if they hadve any records of John's parentage. Since we last corresponded I have found that Thomas S. Phillips who was also in Richwood townships was probably John's brother. They lived near each other in Dyer County for a few years and a T S Phillips performed the wedding ceremony for Mary Catherine and Peter on Feb. 28, 1880. My father participated in teh Family Tree DNA late last year so I have been able to tie John to a general family line but have not yet foun a record of his father. Any help would be appreciated. I've also seen that Ambrose Hats was Lucinda's father, but can't find proof. As far as Jordan George...he was a he, not a she, (there were more than one) but what I again *think...is that Lucinda's mother may have been a George...Rosamond George, who married Ambrose Hays, then John Carlton. The George, Winfrey and Carlton families were all in Russell Co. Ky together. I just can't prove a thing! I don't think so. My family always said she was a Carlton...but there is a marriage record giving her name as Sarah Haze. I *think her mother may have been married to a Hays before marrying John Carlton. So I believe that John Carlton raised her and she and another kid or two took the name Carlton.
