Obituary: The Eldon Advertiser, October 1987 Paul Sestak Sr. , 83, of Dothan, Ala., a native of the Henley area, died Wednesday, Oct. 14, 1987 at Flowers Hospital in Dothan. He was born June 18, 1904 in Henley to John and Mary Ann Holzer Sestak. On Nov. 25, 1832, he was married in Mary's Home to Agnes Tellman, who survives of the home. Mr. Sestak worked as a carpenter and farmer all of his life. He lived in Chicago, Ill. for several years prior to moving to Albuquerque, N.M. He had lived in Dothan Ala. for the past 11 years. He was an active member of the Evergreen Nutritional Center in Dothan. He also was active in the Southern Heirs organization and he and his wife were honored by the group in 1981 by being crowned king and queen. He was a member of the St. Columba Catholic Church. In addition to his wife, Mr. Sestak leaves two sons, Paul Sestak, Jr. of Koeltztown and Ralph Sestak of Dothan, Ala.; two daughters, Mary Ann Koetting of Groom, Tex. and Cyrilla Galbreath of Columbia; 20 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Mary's Home with Msgr. Sylvester Bauer officiating. Burial was in the Hickory Hill Cemetery under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon.
Obituary: The Eldon Advertiser, October 1987 William A. "Wassie" Witt, 77, of Tuscumbia died Sunday, Oct. 18, 1987 at Lake of the Ozarks General Hospital in Osage Beach. He was born Sept. 10, 1910 in Brumley to William A. and Sara Wright Witt. On Feb. 27, 1934 he was married to Eula Gladys Whittle, who survives at the home. Mr. Witt was a lifetime resident of Miller County. He was a retired carpenter and member of the Mt. Zion Christian Church. Surviving him in addition to his wife are two sons, Johnny Lee Witt of Tuscumbia and James Michael Witt of Eldon; four daughters, Joan Hendry of DeSoto, Ida Mae Wood of Eldon, Beulah Jean Kessler of Tuscumbia, and Mickey Parker of Vienna; a brother, John Witt of Eldon; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Stevinson-Mossman Funeral Home with Bro. Farris Wall and Bro Jack Duncan officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Obituary: The Eldon Advertiser, December 1986 Services were held at Blue Springs Thursday, Dec. 18, for Daryl C. Winget, 71, and his wife, Marjorie B. Winget, 58, who died in a traffic accident near Stringtown, Okla., on Sunday afternoon. They were married Aug. 11, 1957. Mr. Winget was born Sept. 2, 1915, in Moniteau County. After age 15 he lived with his grandfather, Charles Goodman at Barnett where he graduated from high school in 1933. He had lived in Blue Springs since 1956 and had worked in the inspection department of Trans World Airlines, Inc. for more than 40 years before he retired. Mrs. Winet was born Dec. 30, 1927 and was a lifelong resident of the Blue Springs area where she graduated from high school. She worked for the Blue Springs Bank for several years. Survivors of Mr. Winget are two brothers, Howard Winget of Springfield and Perrian Winget of Jefferson City; two sisters, Myrtle Ayres of Eldon and Alma Winget of Los Angeles, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. Survivors of Mrs. Winget are three brothers, Leslie Myres of Blue Springs, Lawrence Myres of Oak Grove, and Bob Myres of Kansas City; four sisters, Sue Bolling of Lawson, Mo., Dorothy Gatewood of Blue Springs, Naomi Moore of Grain Valley and Carol Osterberger of Independence; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service was held at the First Christian Church in Blue Springs where memorial contributions can be made to the Winget Memorial Fund.

Thanks for the post. Any ideas if Clem's father Benjamin is the same as Ben J. Sanning b. 2 Jan 1870 d. 3 Jan 1958 in the Mary's Home cemetery transcription on the Miller County genealogy site? I do not see mother Catherine in the cemetery transcriptions, information such as birth and death dates would be appreciated. Obituary: The Eldon Advertiser, October 1987 Agnes B. Overfelt, 88, of Lake Ozark died Saturdayk, Oct. 31, 1987 at Brooking Park Manor in Sedalia. She was born Dec. 20, 1898 in the Marvin community to William and Hannan Daniel Bradshaw. On Dec. 20, 1922 she was married to Samuel Elkin Overfelt, who died in 1960. Mrs. Overfelt was a graduate of Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, graduation in 1920. A former teacher, Mrs. Overfelt also owned the Oak Hill Motel in Lake Ozark for 15 years. She attended the Bagnell Baptist Church and was a 50-year member of the Barnett Order of the Eastern Star. Surviving her are a son, Samuel Overfelt of Jefferson City; a brother, George Bradshaw of Versailles; a sister, Marie Crum of Kansas City; three grandsons; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon with the Rev. Harvell R. Sanders officiating. Burial was in the Eldon Cemetery. Those wishing to make memorial contributions may make them to the Henderson Scholarship Fund at School of the Osage.
Obituary: The Eldon Advertiser, October 1987 Herman G. Denton, 87, of Rte. 4, Eldon died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 1987 at Memorial Community Hospital in Jefferson City. He was born April 1, 1900 in Iberia to Wesley Theodore and Nancy Elizabeth Bond Denton. On July 27, 1921 he was married in Jefferson City to Bertha I. Richardson, who survives. Mr. Denton was retired equipment operator for the Miller County Highway Department. He retired in 1984 at age 84. He was employed by the department for a total of 35 years. He was also employed as a corrections officer with the Missouri Department of Corrections for 12 years. He also was employed with the City of Eldon for seven years as caretaker of the Rock Island Park. He also was a farmer and lived on his farm east of Eldon for 57 years. He was a member of the Tuscumbia Christian Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Dorothy Denton of Kansas City, Alice Johnson of Lenexa, Kan., and Fern Mathews of Elsberry; four sisters, Mary Ray of St. James, Ida Belle Hale and Veta McKinsey of Farmington and Marsha Dake of Iberia; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon with the Rev. Borys Boyuk officiating. Burial was in Greenmore Memorial Park near Barnett.
I just re-read this obit and realize it gives no dates. I have Forest's d.o.b. as 4 Aug. 1912 and he died April 1981 in Kansas City, MO.
