Jefferson City News Tribune, Thursday, May 3, 2007 Betty McGill Robinett, age 72, of Ulman, died Wednesday, May 2, 2007, at her home. She was born in Clarksburg on September 27, 1934, daughter of Roy and Minnie (Wright) McGill. On August 20, 1990, in Brumley, she was married to Linn Robinett, who preceded her in death on April 19, 2004. She loved sewing and was an avid quilter. She also enjoyed fishing, camping, and traveling as well as spending as much time as she could with her grandchildren. She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church near Ulman. Survivors include three sons, Duane Snelling and wife Donna of Wellsville, Kansas, Michael Sanders of Syracuse, and Ronnie Sanders of Vienna; two daughters, Sharon Eldridge and husband George of Mt. Vernon, Washington, and Lisa Birdsong of Jefferson City; one stepson, Wayman Robinett and wife Kathryn of Redmond, Washington; one brother, Herb McGill of Warsaw; seven grandchildren, Angela Hunter and husband Casey, Kimberly Green, Chanda Snelling, Aaron Birdsong, Curtis Snelling, Lindsey Birdsong, and Michelle Sanders; three adopted grandchildren, Rachel Trout, Rebekah Snelling, and David Snelling; one step granddaughter, Shannon Robinett; and nine great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Charles, Herschel, and Leroy McGill; and one sister, Iola Spalding. Services will be at 12 noon on Saturday, May 5, at Crossroads Baptist Church near Ulman. Pastor David Visser will officiate. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery near Latham. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Memorial contributions are suggested to Crossroads Baptist Church.

The death certificate of my g-grandfather, Henry David Wall, lists his last name as Walls. As far as I know, no one in our branch of the tree ever spelled or pronounced it with an "s" on the end. My Grandmother (she was a wall) born 1906 in OK or IT told me they changed their names all the time because they wanted to... didn't like the name or the spelling of it and no one thought it was a big deal.... if someone used the wrong spelling they didn't have a stroke.... so I guess if some one miss guessed and said that is the Walls place there... and they called them Walls... they probably just went with it... #1 I HAVE EDGAR'S SECOND WIFE, SOPHIA LUTTRELL BURIED IN MT. UNION CEMETERY BESIDE EDGAR A. AND ROBERT J. SHE WAS B. 13 MAR 1885, D. 23 AUG 1964. Obituary: Miller County Autogram-Sentinel Edgar Alonzo Wall, 80, a lifelong resident of Miller and Pulaski counties, died Wednesday, Nov. 18 (1964). A native of Pulaski County, he was born Dec. 23, 1883. A carpenter, Mr. Wall was a member of the Mt. Union Church. Surviving are a daughter, Helen Herrington of Las Animas, Colo.; three sons, Robert Wall of Charles City, Iowa, Elda and Frank Wall, both of Seattle, Wash.; four stepsons, Elbert Rowden of Montreal Mo., Willie Rowden of Kittitas, Wash., Edgar Rowden of El Monte, Calif., and Stanley Rowden of Seattle; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the church, with Bro. Virgil Smith officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery, under direction of Walter Hedges Funeral Home of Brumley.
