    3. =============================================================== Is this George Amos Wall and Sarah Elizabeth Boren ? Again, an article from a local paper thought you might like this.. enjoy Mr. and Mrs. George Wall (Handwritten date - 1952) On November 19, 1885, Mr. and Mrs. George Wall were united in marriage near Hawkeye, Mo., in the home of Rev. E. Strutton, and last week, on November 19, they celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary in their home south of Iberia on Highway 17. Mrs. Wall is 86 and Mr. Wall is 88 years of age. Both of these people enjoy good health considering their age. A few years ago Mrs. Wall suffered a broken leg, but by holding to near-by furniture she is able to go about her home. This remarkable couple has remained young in spirit, and when guests call at their home they go away feeling they have had a most pleasant visit with a few extra laughs thrown into the conversation. Friends who called recently in the Wall home were told about a kerosene lamp which is still in use. The elderly couple have never had electric lights installed in their home. Mr. Wall bought the lamp 59 years ago from the late John Casey, in Iberia. Mr. Wall gave Mr. Casey a cord of wood and in return he received the lamp and 50 cents. The original chimney on the lamp was replaced and the lamp is in use every evening. They have a collection of tin-type pictures and among them was the picture of a man, a Mr. Greenstreet, who sold Mr. Wall his first horse. The Walls have lived on their present farm for the last 63 years. They do most of their work and during the cold days a common sight is that of Mr. Wall storing his winter's supply of wood out of the winter weather. Mr. and Mrs. Wall have four children. They are Mrs. Harry Haus, Mrs. Joe Bond and Fred Wall of near Iberia and Arthur Wall of Lamar, Missouri. ANNIVERSARY OF MR. AND MRS. G. A. WALL The home of Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Wall south of Iberia, was the scene of a very enjoyable occasion Sunday, November 17th, it being their 50th wedding anniversary. A large crowd, eighty three in number of relatives and friends gathered there to help them celebrate. There were all kinds of good eats. There were sixteen large cakes and thirty-five pies besides lots of good fried chicken and everything else that goes to make a good dinner. When everyone was through eating there was still plenty left. The afternoon was spent in visiting and listening to music, furnished by Herbert and Homer Condra and Aaron Jones. Mr. and Mrs. Wall received a lot of nice useful gifts from their children and other relatives. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Wall, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Whittle, Mr. and Mrs. John Bond, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Newman, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Keeth, Mr. and Mrs. Wilburn Whittle, Dr. and Mrs. W. H. Adams and son William, Mr. and Mrs. Rolla Wall and three children, Mr. and Mrs. Wes Denton, Mr. and Mrs. Clint Condra, Chas. Haus and daughter Dorothy, Mr. and Mrs. Oda Stites and son, Norman, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Haus and two children, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bond and three children, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Wall, Mr. and Mrs. James Adams and daughter Luane, Mr. and Mrs. Ott Wall and two children, Mr. and Mrs. Charley Adams and son, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd More and family, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wall, Mr. and Mrs. George Adams, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Eiffert, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Long, Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Stokes, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Condra and two sons, Elbert Condra, Homer Condra, Willard Humphrey, Aaron Jones, Dorsey Sheeley, Mrs. Rosa Farnham and granddaughter, Geraldine Bond; Mrs. Margaret Wallace, Mrs. James Keeth, Miss Ethel Keeth, Mrs. Charley Condra, Mrs. Jane Wall, Mrs. Catherine Boren, Hite Boren, and Mrs. Matt Geer. All left late in the afternoon, expressing themselves as having had a most enjoyable time and wishing Mr. and Mrs. Wall many more years of Wedded life. ===============================================================

    3. It was a good article. I remember Curry Church without the additions, does anyone have a picture of it? We went there most every Decoration Day all my life. However, not just the church and cemetery are left, the Curry School is still standing over on the hill east and south of the church on private property. I thought the Faith store was still there too, modified into a home. Not a criticism of the aritcle because my own knowledge about the school and store is pretty recent, as well as finding the Deen Cemetery. My ggrandfather Zeb Martin and my grandparents, Matt and Millie Lawson Martin are buried in the Curry Cemetery as well as some other relatives. The Deen Cemetery is less than a mile south of Curry, where my ggrandmother, Zeb's first wife, Mahala Deen Martin is buried. Also, Mahala's parents, WC and Mary Ann Miers Deen, as well as others. I hope this was of interest to a few of you. 1. Re: [MOMILLER] Kliethermes Bridge

    3. Kliethermes bridge is still standing but not accessible to traffic. It is in a poor shape and not safe to cross. The county court/commission closed it off a couple of years ago. It is very unique but very dangerous. There is not much traffic on these country roads where the bridges are located. Most of them span the Big Tavern creek which meanders across Miller County. The bridges that are still in use include Buechter bridge (south of St. Anthony), Kemna bridge (southeast of St. Elizabeth), Mill Creek bridge and Auglaize bridge (near Brumley in Glaize township)....the bridges that are no longer used include Boeckman (replaced with new bridge), Singer bridge, and Hoecker bridge (replaced with a new bridge)............ Too bad. Hard to believe it's not worth bypassing it with a new bridge and leaving the swinging bridge for foot traffic for tourists. That is what I would do. Come to think of it, you guys better start doing that right now for those swinging bridges down from Wright Cemetery. Get the cars off of them now and you'll have something for the tourists. Don't want tourists - OK - your call, but I think that is a mistake.
