    3. Perhaps not Nancy. George C Whittle's first wife Sarah L J was alive for the 1910 Census at Glaze, Miller Co age 48 b Illinois, mother of 10 kids, 9 alive (and all enumerated in 1910). By the 1920 Census for Glaze, George had a new wife Rena 33 ( in 1930 she was Arsenia 46 first married at 19). I couldn't find a death certificate for Sarah Whittle, but maybe 1917 was the correct year. Nor could I find the marriage of George to Arsenia. According to Ancestry Search (LDS) George was buried in Spearman Cemetery Iberia. 3. Is the Spearman Cemetery also known as Rankin-Wright Cemetery? 1900 Census has Martin Sons and wife Sarah J. (living a few doors away from George C. Whittle) with a daughter Arena (middle initial not discernable). Arena's birth date is Feb 1884 which would make her 36 years old in 1920. It would make her 19 years old in January 1903 when Rena I. Sons married "Marshall P." Robinett. Marshall (or Merrell) lived next door to the Sons family in 1900. Merril L. Robinett married Stella Workman 13 Sep 1903 so if he married Rena, it would have been a brief union The 1910 census lists Lou E. born about 1905. This child is still living at home in 1920 when Rena is now the wife. The conclusion being that Lou E. is the child of George's first wife. I couldn't find marriage information for Rena and George or for Rena and a possible 3rd husband. She would have been fairly young when George died. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Paddy Buckley Sent: Wednesday, September 17, 2008 1:42 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [MOMILLER] George Whittle - obituary Perhaps not Nancy. 3. The 1920 Census lists George age 60 with wife Rena age 33 and daughter Lou age 14. The daughter must be hers by a previous marriage, judging by the age. There is a Rena I. Sons who married Marshall P. Robinett 1 Jan 1903, in Brumley. This is the same township where George was living. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Barbara Darst Sent: Wednesday, September 17, 2008 12:33 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [MOMILLER] George Whittle - obituary Nancy, I got to checking again and either the LDS or Gencircles.com said that his second wife was Rene Suns. 1. [MOMILLER] Peterson/ Parrish, Gott - obituary
    2. Nancy Thompson
    3. The Iberia Sentinel, Unknown Date John C. Peterson, age 73, for many years a resident of Iberia, died in Independence, Kansas last Friday morning, where he was visiting his daughter, Miss Inah Peterson. He had been in failing health for some time but of no alarming degree. He passed away suddenly, falling asleep in his chair. After an impressive funeral service in Independence, the body, accompanied by his three daughters, Miss Inah Peterson, Miss Artie Peterson and Mrs. Earna Butler, and niece, Mrs. Charles Kalbe, was shipped to Crocker, where it was met Sunday morning by his wife of St. Louis and his son, Glen, of East Orange New Jersey. The body was conveyed to Iberia Sunday afternoon by Adams & Casey, local funeral directors, where funeral services were again conducted at the town cemetery by the Rev. P.J. Eckhoff, pastor of the Iberia Congregational Church, after which the remains were laid to rest by the side of his wife, who died a number of years ago. Mr. Peterson was well and favorably known in Iberia, having lived here for many years, where he operated a blacksmith shop and later was a traveling salesman for the Beck & Corbit Iron Co., of St. Louis. After the death of his first wife he married Mrs. Ella Gover, who before her first marriage was a Gott, a sister of Mrs. Gilbert Watkins of Watkins. To this union was born a son who met instant death in an airplane crash something over a year ago. Mr. Peterson is survived by his wife who lives in St. Louis, three daughters and two sons-Miss Inah Peterson of Independence, Kans., Mrs. Earna Butler and Miss Artie Peterson of Wichita, Kans.; William I. Peterson of Sapulpa, Okla., and Glen Peterson of East Orange, New Jersey, also a step-son Truman Gover of St. Louis and a brother Bob Peterson of Crocker, MO. Mr. Peterson was a member of the Big Spring I.O.O.F. Lodge at St. James, Mo., and four of his intimate friends and members of that lodge, J.F. Burge, Earnest Gunter, W.C. Jacobs and Lewis Lee, were here and conducted the last sad rites at the grave.

She was married to Charles K. Clark January 18, 1893, and to this union two children were born, Georgia and Ruth, who survive her and lived with their mother until her death. She is also survived by one brother and one sister, A.S. Marchant and Miss Anna Marchant both of Iberia. Her husband died in 1920. She departed this life at her home in Iberia Sunday, May 18, 1930. Mrs. Clark was converted in her youth and united with the Baptist Church at Iberia and was baptized in 1885. She lived a consistent Christian life until her death, and was one of the church's most faithful members. After a long, busy and useful life she died as she lived-honored, trusted and loved. She reared her own monument while she lived in the hearts of all who knew her. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. R.B. Carnett of Lebanon, Mo., her pastor here for a number of years, were held in the Iberia Baptist Church Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the presence of a large gathering of sorrowing relatives, friends and neighbors.
