    1. [MOMILLER] Hopkins/Kinder - obituary
    2. Nancy Thompson
    3. Unknown Publication, September 1934 A gloom of sorrow was cast over this community Tuesday night about nine-thirty o'clock when the sad news reached here that Mrs. Ray (Eva) Kinder had just past away in the Lebanon hospital where she was taken last Friday for emergency treatment. Shortly after she took seriously ill, she developed double pneumonia. Local physicians did all in their power to alleviate the trouble, and when their untiring efforts proved futile she was taken to the hospital with the hope that something might yet be done. The body was brought back to Iberia Tuesday night and prepared for burial by local funeral directors, Adams & Casey. According to present arrangements, funeral services conducted by her pastor, Rev. Jewell Smoot, will be held from the Methodist church this afternoon (Thursday) at 2 o'clock, after which interment will be made in the town cemetery. The deceased is survived by her husband, a son and daughter, Lowell and Genevive; an aged father, J.L. Hopkins; one brother, Marion Hopkins, and two sisters, Mrs. Spurgeon Groff and Miss Ruby Hopkins. A complete obituary will appear next week.

    1. [MOMILLER] NANCY S WALL m. John Melvin Keeth
    2. Donna
    3. Thank you very much Paddy & Nancy ---you are very much appreciated. I have been searching a death notice or source and unable to find one.   Have you seen the picture of John Melvin Keeth on the Keeth/Slone site------what a devil he must of been-------check out the mustache -----ha ----I enjoy searching all the Keeth's.   For Information:  John Melvin was a probation officer in Oklahoma when he was married to Rosa his last wife, she owed a boarding house and he and his son worked for the City according to the census. I then received a letter from a lady looking for information on John Melvin as a probation officer he took in her grandmother when she was 4-years old he and Rosa she then was adopted and her name was changed in Oklahoma. Interesting these Keeths.   It seems one of the Keeth boys was a BRIDGE BUILDER------- --- Thanks again, Donna     Like you, I have no source for any of this either but have a death date of 7 Feb 1876 for Nancy S. Wall and a birth date of 8 Apr 1848. John Melvin had 6 wives according to my undocumented information. Nancy was the first m. 6 Feb 1867 in Texas County, MO. The rest are as follows: Martha Brown 7 Dec 1876 in Texas County, MO, Sarah Clemmons 13 Mar 1884 in Texas County, MO, Nancy Felts 17 Jan 1892 in Fulton County, AR, Nancy Smith 28 Sep 1893 in Izard County, AR, Rosa Miller 5 Mar 1906 in Benton County, AR. I have three children by Nancy S. Wall: Franklin McCager, John William and Thomas M., all born in Texas County, Missouri. I have 2 children, Mary E. and Perry by wife Martha Brown and two children, Julia and Dennis S. by wife Sarah Clemmons. Since I have no source listed, most likely the information came from Jim K. What an great resource he has been. Nancy T Hi Donna This is what I have, some via Nancy Thompson and some via Jim K. Paddy I have Nancy's death date as 7 Feb 1876. John Melvin died in Muskogee, OK, so it is probable that she died there as well. I have no source for any of these notes so would guess they came from James K. Nancy Wall married John Melvin Keeth. She is daughter of Wm Wall and Lima ? Wm born abt 1790 Ireland; Lima abt 1807 Ky; maybe 2nd wife, but no kids before 1830; Mary 1831 Ky, Adena 1834 Ky, Sally 1835 Ky, James 1837 Ky, Robert 1839 Ky, William 1844, Nancy 2 months old 1850 Ky; could be other wife for older children and Lima comes in after 1844. Nancy must have died before 1877 as John Melvin married a Martha Brown and had 5 kids. She was still alive in 1893. =========================== I have a death date for Nancy S Wall of abt. 1867 ( first wife of John Melvin Keeth) would anyone know the correct date. 3. Hi Donna This is what I have, some via Nancy Thompson and some via Jim K. ----- Original Message ----- From: Donna To: [email protected] Sent: Sunday, November 02, 2008 1:48 AM Subject: [MOMILLER] NANCY S WALL m. 1. [MOMILLER] Graham/McCommons - obituary
    2. Nancy Thompson
    3. Unknown Columbia, MO newspaper, Mar 1938 The sudden death of Mrs. J.L. McCommons, of near Ulman, Saturday afternoon came as a stunning shock to her many relatives and friends here and elsewhere. She apparently had been in fair health but was stricken early Saturday afternoon and passed away about 4:00 o'clock. In the absence of her husband, who was away at a distant farm at work in the fields, she managed to phone for aid from her daughter, Mrs. Wesley Clark of Ulman, who summoned a doctor and relatives here, but before they could all arrive she had passed peacefully away. Margaret Emily, daughter of Samuel and Phoebe Caroline Graham, early pioneer citizens of Miller County, was born near Brumley, MO, Feb. 9, 1872, the youngest of a family of seven children; passed away at her home near Ulman, March 12, 1938, being at the time of her death 66 years of age. She was united in marriage to John Louis McCommons of Ulman, Oct. 30 1887, and they were blessed with a family of eight children, who, with the husband, survive and are as follows: Mrs. Richard L. (Julia) Wright of Tuscumbia; Willard L. of Reinbeck, Iowa; Mrs. Wesley F. (Sadie) Clark of Ulman; Albert R. of Asheville, N. Carolina; Mrs. Dewey E. (Ina) Kallenbach of Tuscumbia; Mrs. Burleigh H. (Helen) Cantwell of Eldon; Mrs. Dorsey O. (Ruth) Barron of Tuscumbia, and John Glen of Philadelphia, Pa. Besides the children she is survived by seven grandchildren-Helen, Lorraine and Illys Lee McCommons of Des Moines, Iowa; Murray McCommons of Reinbeck, Iowa; Leahetta McCommons of Asheville, N. Carolina, and Patricia Wright and Marilyn Barron of Tuscumbia. She also leaves to mourn, one sister, Mrs. Mary Ann Cooper of near Ulman, besides a host of near relatives and friends. Mrs. McCommons united with the Brumley Baptist Church at the age of 14 years, later transferring her membership to the Ulman Baptist Church, and she continued steadfastly in the faith until the end. Mr. and Mrs. McCommons in early married life lived on their farm in the Bear Creek community near Brumley, where they worked and prospered, but later moved to their present home near Ulman where they continued to live until her death. She, by her faithfulness and integrity, contributed much to the well being of her husband and children, ever admonishing and teaching them in the right, and by her conscientious devotion she was rewarded by being permitted to live to see them all prosper and establish happy homes for themselves, and what more could a kindhearted Christian mother wish? She was a devoted Christian and attended church at every opportunity, never shirking the duty of serving her Master whenever duty called. She loved everyone, and it can truly be said that she went about doing good. Funeral services were held from the Ulman Baptist Church Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with the Rv. Raymond Gilbreath, pastor of the Eldon Methodist Church and a dear friend of the family, and Rev. G. Omar Hickey, her former pastor, in charge. Song services were in charge of T.C. Wright of Tuscumbia, assisted by four women and three men, as follows: Mrs. T.C. Wright, Mrs. Curtis Barton, Miss Frances Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. C.O. Brockman, and W.S. Stillwell and son Roger. Pallbearers were W.C. McClain, nephew of Mrs. McCommons, and her five sons=in=law, B.H. Cantwell, W.F. Clark, R.L. Wright, D.E. Kallenbach and D.O. Barron. Following the impressive funeral services, attended by a large crowd of sorrowing friends and relatives, the body was conveyed to Gott Cemetery where interment was made in the family lot, Phillips Funeral Home in charge. All the children and grandchildren were in attendance at the funeral.
