The Iberia Sentinel, March 1935 Again death has invaded another home in our little city and claimed an aged lady in the person of Mrs. John Lilly. For a number of months prior to her fatal illness she had been in poor health and when flu and pneumonia developed her physical condition was not strong enough to resist the attack. Mrs. Lilly was a well known woman of Iberia and vicinity and leaves a host of friends and relatives who mourn her passing. Funeral services conducted by Rev. John Phillips, pastor of the Iberia Baptist Church, were held from the Iberia Christian Church Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock after which interment was made in the town cemetery. Lucy Blankenship was born July 29, 1861; died at her home in Iberia March 1, 1935 at the age of 73 years and 7 months. On December 29, 1877 she was married to John Lilly and to this union four children were born, Elsie, Lonnie, Oscar and Ray. She also leaves to mourn her passing one sister, Catherine Wall; one half-brother, Jesse Long; 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She united with the Iberia Christian Church about 50 years ago.
Here is another obit for Nelson Wickham. I think it was a newspaper clipping I got it from. Obit: N. R. WICKAM, CIVIL WAR VETERAN, DIED FRIDAY AFTERNOON Was Born in Pennsylvania in 1848 and Came to Missouri when Eight Years of Age. Nelson R. Wickam, Civil war veteran and prominent farmer of the Big Tavern, near St. Elizabeth, passed away at his home Friday afternoon at 1:30; rather suddenly. Mr. Wickam was born in Pennsylvania, March 25, 1848, being 87 years 10 months and 19 days old at the time of his death. He came to Missour when eight years old, with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Halsey Wickam, and when the rebellion broke out he enlisted as a private in Co. G. 16th regiment Kansas Volunteers. His father was born in the State of New York July 14, 1808, and his mother, Nancy Manning Wickam, was born June 3, 1816, in New Jersey. Nelson was one of a family of 12 children---Sanford, Prudence, Mary, Agnes, Morgan, Ann, Halsey, Jobe, Josehp and Adeline. All preceded him in death except the youngest two, J.H. Wickam of Eldon and Mrs. Addie Wyrick of Ulman. He was married to Sarah E. Boyd at about the age of 26 years and to this union 3 children were born, W.E. He united with the Christian church15 years ago. A large number of sorrowing relatives and friends attended the funeral services which were conducted by Rev. Shearer of Iberia. Burial arrangements were in charge of Clarence L. Casey, undertaker, assisted by the American Legion of Iberia. Floral offerings were very beautiful. Nancy Wickam

Unknown Pubication, August 1935 Clarence Livingston, son of Mr. and Mrs. D.A. Livingston, was born near Hickory Point Church, in Miller County, Missouri September 20, 1910 and departed this life at Fort Peck Dam in Valley County, Montana, August 3, 1935. Age at the time of his passing was 24 years, 10 months and 13 days. He was converted and joined the Hickory Point Baptist Church August 1927, where he remained a member until death. Clarence, as he was commonly known by the many who knew him, was one of those unusual fine spirited young men, always cheerful about the home, industrious and helpful, and was always willing to share with others, the burdens as well as the blessings of life. He was united in marriage with Miss Gertrude Cross Nov. 13, 1934 in Glas-Gow, Montana where they lived happily together until August 3, when the accident happened that claimed his life. He leaves to mourn his passing, besides his companion, a father and mother, two sisters, Maud and Genevieve and one brother, Leo, all of Iberia, Mo., two brothers preceding him in death, besides these, a host of other relatives and friends. But while our hearts are broken and we are so deeply grieved let us remember that our loss is his eternal gain. So we say good-by until we meet again. After death the body was taken in charge by the Chas. W. Pelerson Undertaking Co. who prepared it for shipment to Iberia. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. W.H. Zuwalt after which the body was quietly laid to rest in the Hickory Point Cemetery to await the Resurrection. The Iberia Sentinel, July 1935 Mathias Meredith, a long time resident of Iberia and one of Miller County's best and most highly respected citizens, passed away at his home here Monday morning at 11:20 o'clock of a heart attack thought to have been caused by the development of a blood clot in an artery leading to the heart. He was a son of Daniel M. and Frances Meredith. On Saturday afternoon, June 22 while painting The Sentinel office Building, Mr. Meredith accidentally fell from a ladder on which he was working and sustained severe injuries about the lower extremities of his back and other parts of the body. From the time of the accident until his death he suffered severely, however, he apparently seemed to be feeling some better last Sunday and was able to turn over in bed, but Sunday night about midnight the above mentioned trouble developed from which he gradually grew worse until the end. Mr. Meredith was a carpenter and painter by trade and for many years has been actively engaged in this occupation here in Iberia and vicinity. Durham and to this union three children were born, Ray Meredith of Jefferson City and Mrs. Fern Toupin of West Plaines, Mo., one child having died in infancy. He is also survived by one brother, Robert Meredith of near Iberia, and three sisters, Mrs. John Shelton of near Brumley, Mrs. James Sanders of Columbus, Kan. And Mrs. James Carleton of St. Louis, eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services conducted by Rev. John Phillips of Iberia were held from the Baptist Church Wednesday afternoon at ?:30 o'clock in the presence of a host of sorrowing relatives and friends, after which interment was made in the town cemetery under direction of the Adams & Casey funeral service. Mr. Meredith united with the Baptist Church when about 30 years of age and from that time on was a devoted member, never ceasing to be active in the various church activities. He was a man who believed in a clean life, was a devoted husband and father and an exemplary citizen and neighbor. His life as lived among us is highly worthy of emulation. He was a member of the Iberia M.W.A. Camp.

It says that he was the probation officer on her case and we believe he was her custodian for a year. We found your correspondence about John Melvin Keeth on www.archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com and hope that maybe you might have some more information. I am very interested in his location and any history you might have on him specifically from the time he spent in Oklahoma. I am also very interested in information on his wife from that time, Rose Miller or Rose Keeth. Do you know what boarding house she worked at? What was her occupation?? Can you tell us about the city or county. He wrote the adoption papers and we have his signature. Any information you have will be very appreciated. My grandmother's name was Helen Hollis born in 1910. She was in John. m. Keeth's custody at the age of 4 and was adopted at the age 5 by Eugene and Johanna Labree. They renamed her Mary Denise LaBree or Marie Denise LaBree. If there is any information you might need from us please contact me. Thank you in advance for your help. Sincerely,Kristin C.=========================================== Notes for NANCY S WALL:Descendants of William Wall 1 William Wall b: 1790 in Ireland .. +Lima Unknown b: Abt. 1807 in KY . 2 Mary Wall b: 1831 in Ky . 2 Adena Wall b: 1834 in KY . 2 Sally Wall b: 1835 in KY . 2 James Wall b: 1837 in KY . 2 Robert Wall b: 1839 in KY . 2 William Wall b: 1844 . 2 Nancy S.
