The Iberia Sentinel, April 1928 Delmar Workman was born Dec 8 1906, and died April 21, 1928, following a brief illness of pneumonia and flu. His age was 21 years, 4 months and 13 days. He leaves to mourn his untimely death a mother, Mrs. S.E. Workman, four sisters, Mabel Workman, Mrs. Bert Koon of Colorado, Joe Ann and Ethel Spearman, and four brothers, Armel and James Workman, and Oscar and Edgar Spearman. His father departed this life about 17 years ago. Besides these there are many other relatives and friends who mourn the early closing of Delmar's life. He graduated from the Iberia Academy one year ago, and when this last illness came was giving his time to the work of the farm. He will be sadly missed by those who knew him best and loved him most. And they may be assured of the loving sympathy of all their neighbors and friends at this time of bereavement. And a loving Heavenly Father will not leave them comfortless. The funeral services were held from the home Sunday afternoon conducted by Rev. E.H. Pontius and the body was laid to rest in the Wright Cemetery. Delmar was a member of the Iberia M.W.A. Camp.

The Iberia Sentinel, July 1934 Mr. and Mrs. John Pemberton of this place received the sad news Monday afternoon announcing the death of their daughter, Mrs. Chester Sanders and her infant babe born only a short time before. Mr. and Mrs. Sanders, since their marriage a few years ago, have resided on a farm near Paris, Mo. Mrs. Sanders was taken to a hospital in Moberly, Mo., a week or so ago to be under the care of special physicians and it was there she departed this life together with her infant. Mr. and Mrs. Pemberton, of this place, and their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. K.L. Burdon of St. Louis, left here Monday night to attend the funeral, which we understand took place at the Sanders home near Paris Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock. Mrs. Sanders (nee Gladys Pemberton) is survived by her husband, parents and three sisters, namely: Mrs. K.L. Burdon of St. Louis, and Mrs. Norah Law and Mrs. Opal Davis of El Centro, Calif. The latter two sisters were unable to attend the funeral, but we are informed that they will arrive here latter part of the week. The entire community joins in extending deep sympathy to the bereaved husband, parents and sisters in their hour of sorrow.

According to the obituary below, Mrs Lucy Ann Lilly 1861-1935 and Mrs Nancy Catherine Wall 1859-1947 were sisters, and according to their death certificates both were the daughters of Nathan Blankenship 1829-1929; Nancy Catherine b Sep 6 1859 in Maries Co and Lucy Ann b Aug 1 1861. I have been unable to find Nathan at the 1860 Census. In 1870 Nathan Blankenship 34 b Ky was in Lafayette Twp, Clinton Co Mo; with wife Sarah 31 and children Mary 12; John 10 and Clarinda 4. No trace of Nancy Catherine or Lucy Ann. According to De Vere Whitaker's detailed research into the Blankenship families, Nathan Blankenship married Barbara Ann Anderson in 1856, yet in all the census returns 1880-1910, Nathan's wife was called Sarah. This was confirmed on Nathan's death certificate Feb 11 1929. At the 1910 Census Nathan & Sarah declared that they had been married for 55 years and that they had raised 4 children. Have I got the right Nathan? Any offers? If I'm looking at the same census records you are, this must be a different Nathan Blankenship because the children don't match up. This Nathan and Sarah had Mary H., John, Clarinda A. and Robert. Nelson R. Wickham died at his home near St. Elizabeth, Missouri February the 14, 1936. He was born in Pennsylvania March 25, 1848. Mr. Wickham was united in marriage to A. Boyd, niece of Green Boyd, and to this union three children were born, William Wickham, Mrs. John Boyd and Mrs. J. Ahart. He was married the second time to Manzilla Grosvenor, and to this union six children were born, Edward, John, Belvia, George, Ilda and Claude. He was a Civil War veteran and a member of the G.A.R. He served as a private in Co. G. 16th Regiment, Kansas Volunteers. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Otto Shearrer of Iberia and held at the home Sunday, February 16. The American Legion Post of Iberia conducted the military services at the grave. The body was then laid to rest in the family cemetery near the home under direction of Adams & Casey, local funeral directors. Through census records and death certificates, I found 8, not 6 children born to Nelson and Marzilla. ---------------------- I had alot of the above names but had them as Wickman ???? but with the same spouses Which is correct??
