He was born Nov. 19, 1905, at Ulman, Mo., the son of Leander and Addie Colvin. He was first married to Dorothy McMillen. He later married Clema Davenport in 1956 at Columbus, Kan. Mr. Colvin was a retired mechanic and farmer. Broadway died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 1995, at ST. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, MO. She was born Oct 10, 1916, in Devon, the daughter of John and Florence Pruitt McMillen. She married Glen Colvin on May 17, 1931, at Stark. She died Oct. 31, 1989. She had worked as a sales clerk in Calhoun's Department Store. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene at Third and Margrave; Woman's Relief Corps; and Eagles Auxiliary. Survivors include two sons, Carl Franklin Colvin, Garnett, and Charles Glenn Colfin, Fort Scott; five daughters, Bettye Wright, Chanute, Joann Ruby, Fort Scott, Florence Thibault, Lakeport, Calif., Norma Kaddo, San Demus, Calif., and Melba McCann, Overland Park; 23 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Alvin, Clyde, Charlie, Bill and John "Tuffy" McMillen; one sister, Bertha Webster; two half-brothers, Jesse and Frank McMillen; and two grandsons, Jeff and Jason Wright. The Rev. Thomas Tinker will conduct services at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Centerville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Mercy Hospice in care of the funeral home. The Fort Scott, KS Tribune, February 26, 1965 Gene Colvin, 49, 9f 323 S. Judson, died yesterday at 10:05 p.m. in Mercy Hospital where he had been a patient since Jan. 6. He had been in failing health a year. Funeral services will be tomorrow at 11 a.m. in Konantz Chapel, with Dr. Clyde Brewster, pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Centerville Cemetery near Devon. Mr. Colvin was born at Ulman, Mo., on May 6, 1915, the son of Leander and Adeline Williams Colvin. He came to the Fairmont neighborhood west of Devon as a boy of 13, with his parents. On June 8, 1934, he married Miss Mary Maurine Carson at Fort Scott and he operated several filling stations until three years ago. He continued to farm and help his neighbors. Unknown Publication, February 2003 Fred Crane, 79, of Fulton died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, at the Miller County Care Center in Tuscumbia. He was born Oct. 7, 1923, in Miller County to Oval and Ethel Davenport Crane. He was married April 7, 1941, to Juanita Iman, formerly of Mexico, who survives at the home. Mr. Crane served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He first worked for the Missouri Highway Department from 1947 to 1958 and then transferred to Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement, a section of the Missouri State Highway Patrol. He worked there from 1958 until 1984. He also farmed. Also surviving him are a son, Dennis Crane of Fulton; a daughter, Carolyn Welch of Fulton; a brother, Gene Crane of Tuscumbia; two sisters, Nina Ruth Berendzen of Eldon, and Barbara Tipton of Brumley; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Richland Baptist Church in Kingdom City with Bro Raymond Iman officiating, assisted by Eldon Wilson. Burial will be in the Richland Baptist Church Cemetery at Kingdom City. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, the Parkinson's Foundation, the Kingdom Christian Academy or the charity of the donor's choice.
Unknown Publication, August 1977 Ira Thomas Beard, 86, of Brumley, died Monday, Aug. 16, 1977 at the Harry S. Truman Veteran's Administration Hospital in Columbia where he had been a patient since the previous day. Mr. Beard was born Nov. 28, 1890 at Bear Creek near Ulman, the son of Joseph and Joanna (Horton) Beard. He was married on June 23, 1920 near Brumley, to Charlotte Francis Huddleston, who survives of the home. Mrs. Beard writes the Wildcat Creek items for this newspaper. Mr. Beard lived in Miller County all of his life except for six months in 1917 when he was in Idaho and while he served in the United States Army in World War I. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church where he served as Sunday school superintendent for over 32 years. He was a former member of the Dog Creek School Board, former member of Modern Woodmen of America, and former MFA board member at Ulman. Surviving other than his wife, Charlotte, are fur sons, Ira Wayne Beard of Brumley, Calvin Beard of Jefferson City, Byron Beard of Bettendorf, Ia., and Marvin Beard of Rock Island, Ill.; six daughters, Mrs. Blanche Boatman of Mountain Home, Idaho, Mrs. Bernice Walker of Tulsa, Okla., Mrs. Ruby Belairs of Joplin, Mrs. Joan Trudell and Mrs. Shirley Crowley, both of Bettendorf, Ia., and Mrs. Alice Kelly of Davenport, Ia.; 32 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Stevinson Chapel in Iberia, with the Rev. Clinton E. Robertson officiating. Burial was in the Boltz Cemetery. Military graveside rites were by the Miller County VFW and American Legion posts. Pallbearers were Alec Walker, Randy Trudell, Byron Beard, Jr., Doug Trudell, Mike Beard and Marty Crowley.
Unknown Publication, December 1966 Clarence E. Shepherd, 69, died last Thursday at the home in Tuscumbia. A son of Jasper and Julia (Bilyeu) Shepherd, she was born Nov. 29, 1897, near Capps in Miller County. On June 8, 1929, he married Lucille Cox at Venice, Illinois. She survives at the home. Mr. Shepherd was employed by Pfitzer, Inc. in Granite City, Ill., 33 years. He was a member of the Christian Church. Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Robert of Tuscumbia; two daughters, Mrs. Gloria Eiler of Belleville, Ill., and Mrs. Melba Jean Valdez of East St. Louis, Ill.; five sisters, Mrs. Elphia Horton and Mrs. Eula Stone, both of Ulman, Mrs. Audrey Coburn, Mrs. Lucy Mainard and Mrs. Sylvia Shepherd, all of St. Louis and three grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Ulman Christian Church with the Rev. Mark Sooter officiating. Burial was in Hickory Point Cemetery under direction of Scrivner-Stevinson Funeral Home of Iberia.
The Oklahoman, Oklahoma City, OK, Tuesday, July 31, 2007 Anna L. Wolf, 100, was born January 23, 1907 at Bagnell, MO and died July 29, 2007 in OKC, OK. Anna was the oldest of 12 children and was the last survivor of the Wolf family. She was born the year Oklahoma became a state and was a Centennial Centenarian. Anna was a member of St. James the Greater Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents James and Rosie (Scott) McDowell; husband Lawrence A. Wolf; son Paul L. Wolf; 5 sisters and 3 brothers. Survivors include three daughters, Rose M. Zaloudik and Mary A. Blake, both of OKC and Rita K. Dougherty and husband Patrick of Columbia, MO; sisters, Odessa Koelsch of Scottsdale, AZ, Marcella Akin of Mustang, OK, and Maxine Parkhurst of Amarillo, TX; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Rosary will be Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at the South Colonial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wed., Aug. 1, 2007, at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 4201 S. McKinley. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. James the Greater Catholic Church.
Enid News and Eagle, Enid, OK, Sunday, June 24, 2007 A graveside service for Wendell Keith Patterson, 92, of Fairview will be 9:30 a.m. Monday in Doniphan Cemetery, Doniphan, Mo. Local arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Fairview. He was born July 10 1914 near Pleasant Hope, Mo., to James G. and Edna Mae Cowden Patterson and died Thursday, June 21, 2007 in Fairview. He attended Pleasant Hope Schools and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Southwest Missouri State Teachers College in 1935 and a Master of Divinity degree in 1938 from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago. He began his ministry in Doniphan, Mo. in May 1938. He married Barbara Withrow Aug 6, 1939. He pastured in Freeport, Kan., Popular Bluff and Covenant Presbyterian Church of Kansas City, Shawnee and Alva. He retired in 1977. He was a member and chaired numerous committees of Kiwanis clubs in each of the communities where he lived. He wrote articles on travel in 1996 for Enid News and Eagle. His latest article in December 1996 in Mature Living was a memorial to his wife, Barbara. Surviving are one son, Harold Patterson of Boise, Idaho; one daughter, Ann Martens of Fairview; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara, one son, one brother and one sister.
The New Iberian, February 24, 1977 Frank Steen, age 92 years of Iberia, Mo., passed away Sunday, February 13 at the Miller County Nursing Home where he had been a patient since the fall of 1973. Mr. Steen was born November 3, 1884, in Camden County near Dean's Creek, the son of John B. and Mary Caroline (Barnett) Steen. He was united in marriage to Ella Frances Wall, who preceded him in death on December 26, 1973. After his marriage in 1905, Mr. Steen moved to Miller County where he farmed. He had been a member of Hickory Point Baptist Church for over ten years. Preceding him in death were his wife, Ella; his parents; brothers William, George, John Leslie and Homer; 6 sisters, Rosa Davis, Mary J. Steen, Melinda Pemberton, Jane Rainwater, Sarah Curl, and Ida Pemberton; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Surviving are 5 sons, Waldo and Holmes Steen both of Eldon, Mo., Kermit and Paul Steen both of Iberia, Mo., and John Steen of Valley Park, Mo.; 2 daughters, Vergie Smith of Camas Washington and Mrs. Icie Evacko of Iberia, Mo.; 24 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 14, 1977 at the Stevinson Chapel in Iberia with Rev. Charles Cox officiating. Interment was in the Williams Cemetery near Iberia, under the direction of the Stevinson Funeral Home of Iberia, Mo. Active pallbearers were Wayne Steen, Tim Elseman, Tom Steen, Rodney Steen, Donald Steen and Louis Elseman. Honorary pallbearers were Benton Whitaker, Philip Elseman and Brent Gardner.

He was born April 29, 1902, in Miller County to Soloman and Betty Wall Cochran. On March 8, 1922, he was married in Tuscumbia to Velma Eunice Moneymaker, who died Feb. 7. 1978. Mr. Cochran was a retired farmer and was a lifetime resident of Miller County. Surviving him are five sons, Gleneth Cochran, Billy Cochran and David Cochran, all of Brumley, and Glen Cochran and Danny Cochran both of Iberia; three daughters, Juanita Harrison and Eula Mae Cochran, both of Iberia, and Alice Mitchell of Brumley; a sister, Venice Duncan, of Iberia; 36 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Mt. Union Church with Bro. Bill Claiborn officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Union Cemetery under the direction of Stevinson-Mossman Funeral Home of Iberia.

On July 15, 1925, he was married to Lillie Pearl Boren, who survives. Mr. Cochran was a retired farmer and a lifetime resident of the Iberia community. He was a member of the Honey Springs Baptist church. Other survivors are a son, James "Buster" Cochran of Iberia; a brother Bill Cochran, of Iberia; and a sister, Venice Duncan of Iberia; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the church with the Rev. Willis Horeton officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Union Cemetery.

Levi passed in 1855 in Olean MO. The only connection I could find to Levi, was in Orange county NC, to a William Roark. Who are the parents of the Robinett children listed here? Unknown Publication, March 1978 Oval S. Crane, 77, Tuscumbia, died Wednesday, March 22, 1978, at his home. He was born Aug 29, 1900, at Ulman to Leander and Rosie Colvin Crane. A retired farmer and stockman, he lived in Miller County on the same farm all of his life. Nov. 20, 1921, he was married to Ethel Leona Davenport who died Dec. 14, 1965. May 8, 1975, he was married to Grace Lee who survives. Mr. Crane was a member of Mt. Zion Christian Church. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Fred Lee Crane, Fulton, and Gene Crane, Tuscumbia; two daughters, Mrs. Don (Nina Ruth) Berendzen, Eldon, and Mrs. Jesse (Barbara) Jones, Tuscumbia; four step-sons, Horatio Robinett and Preston Robinett, Shawnee, Kan., Nelson Robinett, Kansas City, Kan., and Bennie Robinett, Warsaw; and nine grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. Gene Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Gott Cemetery at Ulman, under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home.
