    3. Unknown Publication, April 1968 Risden S. Robertson, 93, of Iberia died Saturday, April 13, 1968, at the Smithville Community Hospital. He was a farmer in the Eugene and Iberia communities before his retirement. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Phillips Chapel in Eldon. Mr. Robertson was born Dec. 19, 1874 at New London, Mo. He was married to Lily Belshe who preceded him in death in 1951. Mr. Robertson is survived by four sons, Aubrey Robertson of Iberia, E.R. Robertson of Jefferson City and Kenneth and James Robertson of Kansas City; one daughter, Mrs. S.P. (Geraldine) Clark, Los Angeles, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Jess Robertson, Jefferson City, and Nimrod Robertson, Meta. The Rev. A.L. Alexander officiated at the services Monday. Burial was in the Spring Garden Cemetery. Pallbearers were Kleo Robertson, John Robertson, Robert Robertson, Joe Robertson, Bud Johnson and Gene Fryhoff.

A son of Virgil and Florence Barnhart, he was born Nov. 8, 1927, in Miller County. On April 27, 1950, he married Dixie Marie Akery, who survives. Mr. Barnhart served with the Navy during World War II, and was a member of the Dixon Church of Christ. Also surviving are two sons, Randall and Monte, and a daughter, Pamela; his mother, Mrs. Florence Barnhart of Dixon, and a sister, Mrs. Ruby Roberds of Meta.

Mr. Dake, 73, died Friday, Dec 29, 1967, at the Pulaski County Memorial Hospital in Waynesville. He was born Aug 9, 1894, near Iberia, a son of Andrew and Jane (Humphrey) Dake. He was married in 1918 to Lucy Rowden who survives. Mr. Dake worked as an auto mechanic for Eads Motor Co. in Iberia. He also owned and operated his own garage for several years and engaged in farming. He was baptized and became a member of the Bray's Advent Christian Church after his marriage. In addition to his wife, Mr. Dake is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Leota Griffin and Mrs. Imogene Jones of Waynesville; one son, George Dake, Jr., Kansas City; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Joe and Jack Dake of Iberia and Larmon Dake of Dixon; and two sisters, Mrs. Susan Ahart of Iberia and Mrs. Fannie Thompson of Dixon. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Willard, Gordon and Manley Dake; one sister, Mrs. Sarah Wilson, and one daughter, Lucille Dake at the age of 6 years. The Rev. Mark Sooter officiated at the funeral services Sunday. Interment was in the Dake Cemetery near Iberia. Pallbearers were Boyd Sessions, Bill Prather, Okley Kinder, Orville Griffin and Jim Williams.

    3. Unknown Publication, March 1968 Fred A. Martin, 68, of Iberia died Sunday, March 24, 1968, at the home of his son near Iberia. Mr. Martin was born Nov. 9, 1899 near Dixon in Maries County, the son of George and Emma (Barnhart) Martin. He was married March 29, 1920 in Vienna to Gertie Kehr who survives. Mr. Martin had lived in Iberia since Labor Day of 1966. Prior to that he lived on a farm near Dixon most of his life. HE was a retired farmer, and from 1923 to 1931 he worked for the Public Service Co. in St. Louis as a streetcar conductor. He was baptized early in life and became a member of the Alder Springs Church of Christ near Iberia. He moved his membership to the Iberia Church of Christ upon moving to Iberia. In addition to his wife, Gertie, of the home in Iberia, he is survived by two sons, Louis Martin of Iberia and Edward Martin of Edwardsville, Ill.; one daughter, Mrs. Lucille Porter of Fort Smith, Ark; seven brothers, Chess Martin, Everett Martin, Charley Martin, Ray Martin and Clarence Martin all of Dixon; Virgil Martin of Florissant and Georgie Martin of the state of California; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters in infancy. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Iberia Church of Christ with Charles Pitts officiating. Burial was in the Iberia Cemetery under the direction of Stevinson Funeral Home of Iberia. Brothers served as pallbearers.

    3. Unknown Publication, September 1967 Minzo Julius Rowden, 53, Iberia, died Monday, Sept. 25, 1967, at the Fort Leonard Wood Hospital after suffering a heart attack. A son of Arthur and Effie (Dake) Rowden, he was born May 17, 1914, in Miller County. On Nov. 17, 1938, at Tuscumbia, he married Iris Renfrow, who survives at the home in Iberia. Mr. Rowden was awarded the Purple Heart after he was wounded in Italy during World War II. A civil service employee in the motor pool at Fort Wood, he formerly farmed and worked at the Western Auto store in Iberia. Mr. Rowden had lived most of his life in Miller County. He was a member of Smyrna Church of Christ in Maries County. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Kathy Nelson, Iberia; a son, Paul Rowden of the home; a brother, Charles Rowden, Dixon; six sisters, Mrs. Velma Machon and Mrs. Gladys Alexander, both of Dixon, Mrs. Emma Palmer of Tulsa, Okla., Mrs. Thelma Luttrell, Mrs. Easter Luttrell and Mrs. Ila Luttrell, all of Iberia and one grandson. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) at the Stevinson Chapel in Iberia, with Bro. William Hensley officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery near Iberia, under direction of Stevinson Funeral Home of Iberia. Military graveside rites under direction of the Fort Leonard Wood drill team.

Nancy:' Understand.  Some of the most valuable obituaries to me that I have ever found were pasted in old magazines by a distant relative.  That was before I and computers became friendly and I transcribed what I got from her by hand.  Both she and her daughter are now gone and I just hope that someone has saved them.  William L. Bottom line is I should have started doing this when I was twelve years old instead of waiting until I was 70.     3. Unknown Publication September 1970 Dorsey Armond Wall, 63, of Iberia died Monday, Sept 7, 1970 at Charles E. Still Hospital, Jefferson City. He had been hospitalized since Sunday, Aug. 30. Mr. Wall had been a farmer in the Iberia area throughout his adult life. He was born Oct 30, 1906 near Iberia, the son of Dow W. and Eva (Groves) Wall. On Oct. 30, 1926 he was married in Tuscumbia to Miss Clara Mildred Miller who survives at the family home near Iberia. Also surviving are two sons, James Dow Wall and Basil Robert Wall, both of Iberia; three brothers, Stanley Wall of Crescent, Hannis Wall of Denver, Colo., and Warren Wall of Eldon; one sister, Mrs. Bonnie McDowell of Madison, Ill.; and three grandchildren. Mr. Wall was a member of the Fairview Christian Church where he was serving as a deacon. He was a former member of the Modern Woodmen of America. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Stevinson Chapel in Iberia with the Rev. Mark Sooter and the Rev. Leonard Davis officiating. Burial was in Bethany Cemetery near Crocker.     3. Unknown Publication, February 1970 Funeral services for Robert Butler Thompson of Iberia were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, just one week before his 101st birthday. Mr. Thompson, one of the county's oldest citizens, died Friday, Feb. 6, 1970 at Statewide Nursing Home in Jefferson City where he had been a patient since Oct. 6. He was born near Alder Springs in Miller County on Feb. 15, 18969, the son of Nathaniel and Narcissa (Record) Thompson. Most of his life was spent in the Iberia and Dixon areas. He was married to Miss Mary Ollie Shelton who died in 1894. On Dec. 5, 1895, he married Nellie Rebecca Rowland who preceded him in death on July 3, 1963. Mr. Thompson was a former school teacher and farmer. For many years he had served as deacon of the Alder Springs Church of Christ where he has been a member. A former member of the Modern Woodmen of America, Mr. Thompson has been very active in church and civic affairs until late fall. In addition to his wives, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Mrs. Mae Wilson in February of 1952 and Mrs. Pansy Williamson in October of 1938; three sons, one in infancy, Truman on May 26, 1968 and Herman on Dec. 29, 1968. Those surviving in his family include two sons, Dewey and Wayne, both of Iberia; three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Newhart of Iberia, and Mrs. Opal McDaniel and Mrs. Ollie Stewart, both of Mission, Kan., 16 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Lottie Cross of Sedalia; and one brother, Barney Thompson of Dallas, Tex. The Rev. Aldon Veach and the Rev. Mark Sooter officiated at the Sunday afternoon services at Brays Advent Christian Church. Interment was in Union Cemetery under the direction of the Stevinson Funeral Home of Iberia.
