Unknown Publication, June 1971 Funeral services were held at ? p.m. Sunday at the Stevinson Chapel in Iberia for Isaac (Ike) N. Renfrow, 84, Rte. 1, Meta. Mr. Renfrow died Tuesday, June 1, 1971, at his home. He was born Dec. 23, 1886 in Maries County near Brinktown, the son of William David and Ellen (Moss) Renfrow. He was married in 1910 to Dora Palmer who preceded him in death in 1927. Mr. Renfrow lived all of his life in the Maries County area between Vienna and Iberia. He taught school at Wheeler and Taft schools in Maries County and also farmed. Others preceding him in death were one daughter, Jean, in 1929 and two brothers, George and John Renfrow. Survivors include one son, William H. Renfrow of St. Louis; three daughters, Mrs. Helen Fitzpatrick of St. Ann, Mrs. Dorothy Manning of Kirkwood and Mrs. Lois Small of Wright City; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The Rev. Ray McClary officiated at the services. Interment was in the Lawson Cemetery in Maries County. Pallbearers were: Loren Humphrey, Vasca Humphrey, Earl Renfrow, Ray Moss, Wayne Vaughn and Jimmy Stricklan.
Unknown Publication, January 1972 Laymon Brumble, 66, of near Meta, died Saturday, Jan 15, 1972 at Memorial Hospital in Jefferson City. Mr. Brumble was born Nov. 27, 1905 in Maries County near Meta, the son of Ray and Eliza (Berry) Brumble. He was married Feb. 28, 1932 in Dixon by Rev. Edmund Bauer, to Margaret Hollis who survives. Mr. Brumble spent all of his life near his home place in Maries County where he farmed. He had also been a carpenter at Fort Leonard Wood for several years. Mr. Brumble was a member of the Wheeler Christian Church and a trustee of the church since 1944. Surviving other than his wife, Margaret, are one daughter, Mrs. Jane Heyer of Meta; one nephew who was raised by Laymon, Milton Brumble; one brother, Leslie Brumble of Rolla; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Messersmith of Dixon and Mrs. Ada Krone of Marshall; two granddaughters, Marilyn Helton of Meta, and Judy Shepherd of Rolla; one great-granddaughter, Monica Shepherd of Rolla; several nieces and nephews, and two step-grandsons. Mr. Brumble was preceded in death by one sister, Pearl Brumble. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Stevinson Chapel in Iberia, with the Rev. Earl Brown, the Rev. Mark Sooter and the Rev. Gilbert Shoemaker officiating. Interment was in the Wheeler Cemetery near Meta. Pallbearers were Myrl Lawson, Winston Lawson, Loyd Conner, Phil Brune, Theron Ellis and Oscar Hayes.
Unknown Publication, December 1972 William Albert McKee, 87, of Iberia died Sunday, Dec. 24, 1972, at Memorial Community Hospital in Jefferson City. Mr. McKee was born Jan. 27, 1885 in Miller County near Iberia, the son of William and Laura (Keeth) McKee. He was married Sept. 23, 1917 to Mary Humphrey, who preceded him in death on Feb. 27, 1969. Mr. McKee lived in the Iberia area all of his life with the exception of a few years in St. Louis where he was employed as a street car conductor. While living in the Iberia area, he farmed and was employed at Fort Leonard Wood. Mr. McKee was a member of the Brays Advent Christian Church since early in life and served as a church trustee and was on the cemetery committee. Also preceding him in death were two brothers, Minzo and Vernie, and two sisters, Mrs. Cora Morrow and Mrs. Ella Helton. Surviving are one son, Jennings McKee of Bunceton; two daughters, Mrs. Eunice Mace of Iberia, and Mrs. Phyllis Sumner of Dawson, Minn.; two brothers, Henry McKee of Meta and Hirstey McKee of Iberia; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Brays Advent Christian Church with the Rev. Aldon Veach and the Rev. Miles Bowden officiating. Interment was in the Union Cemetery under the direction of the Stevinson Funeral Home of Iberia. Honorary pallbearers were Bill Skaggs, Budge McKee, Willard Hartung, Jim Sisco, Okley Kinder and Roselle Pendleton. Active pallbearers were his grandsons.
Unknown Publication, March 1972 Mrs. Inez McKee, 61, of Iberia died Sunday, March 19 at the Charles E. Still Hospital in Jefferson City. Mrs. McKee was born Sept. 30, 1910 in Pulaski County near Dixon, the daughter of John and Minnie (Nelson) Baugh. She was married April 11, 1929 in Madison County, Ill. to Johnnie H. McKee who survives. Mrs. McKee was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses at Crocker. She was also a member of the Iberia Senior Citizens. Mrs. McKee was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Paul Rex, and one daughter, Gloria Lucille, both in infancy. Other survivors include: three sons, Dean and Ronald McKee, both of Granite City, Ill., and Terry McKee, United States Army stationed in South Vietnam; three daughters, Mrs. Nadine Rowden of Dixon, and Mrs. Eilene Fitzpatrick and Mrs. Donna Perry, both of Iberia; two sisters, Mrs. Bernice Allen and Mrs. Cecile Pauloff, both of Glen Carbon, Ill.; two brothers, Homer Baugh of Vallejo, Calif., and Robert Baugh of Affton, and 21 grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Stevinson Chapel in Iberia with James Squires officiating. Interment was in the Dake Cemetery near Iberia. Pallbearers were Jerry Pauloff, Herbert Rowden, Harold Rowden, Alvin Pendleton, Denny Pendleton and Wilburn Rowden.

In 1920, Maude Crismon age 4 3/12 and Gladys Crismon age 6 are enumerated in the household of James Marion and Mary Capps Barnhart. She is listed as "granddaughter". Unknown Publication, August 1970 Henry Milton Jarrett, 69, of Iberia, died Friday, August 14, 1970, at St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City. Mr. Jarrett was born June 24, 1901 near Iberia, the son of J.W. and Elizabeth (Rothamel) Jarrett. He was married on Aug. 31, 1927, in Tuscumbia to Flossie Mae Adams, who preceded him in death on Sept. 30, 1969. Mr. Jarrett lived in Marshall from 1948 to 1961, and the rest of his life in the Iberia area where he farmed. He was a member of the Hickory Point Baptist Church near Iberia. Survivors include one son, Ellis W. Jarrett, Iberia; one brother, Will Jarrett of Iberia; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Barr of Iberia and Mrs. Emma Sloan of Iberia; and on grandson and one great-granddaughter, both of Iberia. Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Hickory Point Baptist Church near Iberia, with the Rev. Clinton Roberson officiating. Interment was in the Hickory Point Cemetery under the direction of the Stevinson Funeral Home of Iberia. Pallbearers were: Tennyson Jarrett, John Calvin Jarrett, Gilford Barr, Donald Jarrett, Glen Shreve and Frankie Blankenship.
Unknown Publication, April 1970 Mrs. Annie Marjorie (Johnston) von Gremp, 88, of Iberia, died Tuesday, April 28, 1970, at the Masonic home for the aged in St. Louis. Mrs. Von Gremp was born in Iberia on May 17, 1881, the daughter of the late George and Laura Irwin Johnston. In her early years she became a member of the Iberia Congregational Church and remained active in the church until her illness. Mrs. Von Gremp attended the Iberia Academy and was graduated in June 1900 with a diploma in music. She was married on June 13, 1900 to Dr. W.A. von Gremp. From this time forward Mrs. Von Gremp's life became closely interwoven in the life of the community as she worked with Mr. von Gremp in his many capacities. Mrs. Von Gremp was a member of the Iberia Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and served as worthy matron for one year. Surviving are two sons, Bluford von Gremp of Waynesville, and James Ellis von Gremp of Camdenton; two daughters, Mrs. Zella von Gremp of Orlando, Fla., and Mrs. Vivian Humphrey of Waynesville; one stepson, Walter von Gremp of Los Angeles, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband, three brothers, and two sisters. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. last Thursday at the Congregational Christian Church of Iberia, with the Rev. Earl Brown officiating. Interment was in the Iberia Cemetery under the direction of the Stevinson Funeral Home of Iberia. Pallbearers were: Bob Gooderl, Jim von Gremp, Don Fancher, Bob Perkins, Jim Eads and Berry Livingston. Eastern Star memorial services were held Wednesday, April 29, at 7:30 p.m. at the Stevinson Chapel under the direction of the Iberia Chapter 537.
Unknown Publication, October 1967 Frank Parish Livingston, 78, Iberia, died Friday, Oct. 6, 1967 at the University of Missouri Medical Center in Columbia, where he had been a patient since Sept. 20. A son of William Noe and Sarah (James) Livingston, he was born Feb. 23, 1889, on the same farm where he lived all of his life. On Dec. 3, 1911, Mr. Livingston married Ethel Waite, who survives at the home near Iberia. Also surviving are two sons, Ellis of Duluth, Minn., and Frank Bryan of Florissant; two daughters, Mrs. Iris Burks and Mrs. Wilma Hickey, both of Iberia; 16 grandchildren and 10 great=grandchildren. A retired farmer, Mr. Livingston was a deacon and treasurer of the Hickory Point Baptist Church for many years, and was a Sunday school superintendent for 13 years at the church. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the church with the Rev. B.F. Dinwiddie and the Rev. Gene Kury officiating. Burial was in Livingston Cemetery under direction of Stevinson Funeral Home of Iberia. Pallbearers, deacons of the Hickory Point Church were Willard Kelsay, Earl Gardner, James Mote, Ellis Jarrett, Edward Baker and Waldo Steen.
Unknown Publication, July 1970 One of the area's senior citizens, Mrs. Mary Olive Elizabeth Grosvenor, 93, of Brumley died Tuesday, July 21, 1970, at Charles E. Still Hospital, Jefferson City. She leaves four generations of descendants. Mrs. Grosvenor was born Aug. 21, 1876 in Maries County, the daughter of Harvey Knox and Mary Olive (Lawson) Palmer. She was married March 28, 1898 to William Jackson Grosvenor who died Aug 29, 1923. Mrs. Grosvenor was a member of the Smyrna Church of Christ. She had lived in the Brumley area most of her life, but spent a few years in Oklahoma. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Rosaltha Miller of Tulsa, Okla., Mrs. Laura Opal Hedrick of Fortuna, and Mrs. Mabel Luttrell of Brumley; 34 grandchildren; more than 50 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were to be held at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) at the Smyrna church of Christ near Vienna with Bro. Arvil Elrod officiating; interment in the Lawson Cemetery under the direction of Stevinson Funeral Home of Iberia.
Unknown Publication, July 1971 Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Stevinson Chapel in Iberia for Mrs. Dorothy A. Newhart, a lifelong resident of the Iberia community. Mrs. Newhart, 69, died suddenly Wednesday morning, June 30, 1971, at Memorial Community Hospital, Jefferson City, where she had been a patient only a few hours. She was born Oct. 27, 1901 near Alder Springs in Miller County, the daughter of Robert Butler and Nellie (Rowland) Thompson. On April 21, 1918 she was married to Charles Ralph Newhart who survives, in a ceremony performed by Richard Atwell. Mrs. Newhart was a member of the United Church of Christ. She was baptized at Alder Springs. She formerly was a member of the Brays Advent Christian Church, becoming a member of the United Church of Christ April 26, 1962. In addition to her husband of the home, Mrs. Newhart is survived by three sons, Harold A. Newhart and Lowell E. Newhart of Iberia, and Charles T. Newhart of Springfield; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Wayne Thompson and Dewey Thompson of Iberia; and two sisters, Mrs. Opal McDaniel and Mrs. Ollie Stewart of Mission, Kan. The Rev. Earl Brown will officiate at the services Friday afternoon. Burial will be in Union Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Rowden was born Aug. 10, 1883, in Miller County near Iberia, the daughter of Greenville and Jane (Freeman) Boyd. She was married Oct. 10, 1903 to Willis E. Rowden who preceded her in death on May 10, 1968. Mrs. Rowden was a member of the Iberia Assembly of God Church. Surviving are one son, Ray Rowden, Iberia; two daughters, Mrs. Redus Machon, Star Rte., Crocker, and Mrs. Wilma Hamilton, of Crocker; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Iberia Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Fred Curtman and the Rev. Wilford David officiating. Interment was in the Iberia Cemetery under the direction of the Stevinson Funeral Home of Iberia. Pallbearers were Orville Griffin, Vernon Keeth, Belvia Boyd, Ellis Boyd, Victor Rowden, Danny Rowden Morris Earp and Troy Phillips.
Unknown Publication, December 1970 Otto Cross, a lifelong resident of the Iberia community, died on Christmas Day, his 75th birthday. He passed away early Friday, Dec. 25, 1970, at the L. E. Cox Medical Center in Springfield. Mr. Cross was born Dec. 24, 1895 in Miller County, the son of the late Charles E. and Effie Humphrey Cross. He was married March 25, 1917 to Bertha Mace who survives at the home in Iberia. Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Lois Dean Miller of Waynesville; four granddaughters; two brothers, Herman Cross of Kersey, Colo., and Barney Cross of Alamogordo, N. Mex.; and two sisters, Mrs. Lennie Graham and Mrs. Opal Cassingham, both of Warrensburg. Mr. Cross was a retired farmer. He also taught school for six years in Miller County. He was a member of the Brays Advent Christian Church. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Brays Advent Christian Church. The Rev. Aldon Veach and the Rev. Bill Dudley officiated. Burial was in Union Cemetery under the direction of Stevinson Funeral Home of Iberia. Active pallbearers were Ernine Humphrey, Okley Kinder, Bill Clark, Henry Leffman, Hezzy Hinson and Bert Faber. Honorary pallbearers were Albert McKee, Ralph Newhart, Austin Barnett, Allen Shelton, the Rev. Miles Bowden and Ed Humphrey.

Mrs. Humphrey was born Aug. 30, 1880 in Maries County, the daughter of Rufus and Emiliza (Gibson) Crismon. She was married Aug. 6, 1902 in Iberia to Walter W. Humphrey by Dr. Sooter. Mrs. Humphrey spent the first part of her married life in Brays, and later in Tavern where she reared her family. Previous to the Humphreys' move to Iberia in 1957, they made their home in Vienna for 16 years. Mrs. Humphrey was a longtime member of the Christian Church at Wheeler. She was baptized at Camp Ground Christian Church by Menzo Sooter and Nettie Sooter. Mrs. Humphrey was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, in Feb. 19, 1961 and 4 sons, Rockford M. on June 24, 1967, Rufus G. on Nov. 29, 1962, William R. on March 9, 1969 and Raymond C. on March 24, 1926; also two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Morrow and Mrs. Maude Jones; one brother, Hosea Crismon; and two great-grandsons Gregory Duane Humphrey on Sept. 2, 1966 and one in infancy. Survivors include: two sons, Wayne of Iberia and Guy of Fresno, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. Dale Graham of Kirkwood, Mrs. Irene Richardson of El Cajon, Calif., Mrs. Emogene Herrmann of Berkley, and Mrs. Fay Bremer of Jefferson City, Mo.; 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Stevinson Chapel Hwy. 17, N. Iberia, with the Rev. Mark Sooter and the Rev. Aldon Veach officiating. Interment was in the Union Cemetery near Iberia. Pallbearers were Rockford Humphrey, Jr., Ronnie W. Humphrey, Joe Humphrey, J.W. Humphrey, Bill Humphrey, Mike Brumley.

She was a member of Wheeler Christian Church near Dixon. Other survivors include one son, Edward W. Shelton of Dixon and three sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Malmberg of Iberia, Mrs. Nellie Barnhart of Pacific, and Mrs. Maude Hicks of St. Elizabeth. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Wheeler Christian Church near Dixon with the Rev. Ray McClary officiating. Interment was in the Wheeler Cemetery under the direction of the Stevinson Funeral Home of Iberia. Pallbearers were: Jake Malmberg, Bob Malmberg, Randy Malmberg, Jim Barnhart, Bud Lang and Junior Wilson.

Mr. Atwell was born April 23, 1900 in Miller County near Hancock, the son of Richard J. and Melvina (Kenworthy) Atwell. He was married Aug. 17, 1919 near Alder Springs to Bessie May Templeton, who survives. Mr. Atwell had lived in Dixon the past 14 years, and was employed there by the Brown Shoe Co. He was also a custodian, a watchman and a farmer. Mr. Atwell was a member of the Alder Springs Church of Christ and IOOF Lodge 108 in Crocker. He was preceded in death by three sons, Alfred and Paul and one son in infancy. Surviving besides his wife, May, are two sons, Harold of West Memphis, Ark., and Howard of Matthews; one daughter, Mrs. Geraldine Pendleton of Dixon; three brothers, Leslie of Iberia, Oscar of Fremont, Neb. And Vern of Hazelwood; one stepbrother, Adam Crismon of Warrensburg; two sisters, Mrs. Edith Berry of Independence, and Mrs. Eunice Ward of Pleasant Hill; 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Alder Springs Church of Christ with Bro. Arvil Elrod of Belle officiating. Interment was in the Alder Springs Cemetery under the direction of the Stevinson Funeral Home of Iberia. Pallbearers were lodge members, Amos Pendleton, Dean Musick, Thomas Goodman, John S. Morrow, who preceded her in death on March 6, 1965. Mrs. Morrow lived all of her life in the Iberia area where they operated a café and worked for a time in the Service Club at Fort Leonard Wood. She was a member of the Brays Advent Christian Church, a former member of Iberia WPFA and the Sunshine Circle in Iberia. Surviving are three sons, Virgil of Clayton, Jasper and Bob, both of Iberia; two daughters, Mrs. Juanita Sisco of Iberia and Mrs. Ruby Ross of Kansas City, Kan.; three brothers, Albert McKee and Hirstey McKee of Meta; one sister, Mrs. Ella Helton of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and nine grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday at the Brays Advent Christian Church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Aldon Veach officiating. Interment was in the Union Cemetery near Iberia under the direction of the Stevinson Funeral Home of Iberia. Pallbearers were Drexel Lewis, J.D. McKee, Jennings McKee, Jimmy Ricker, Lloyd Humphrey and Maurice Mace.
Unknown Publication, January 1971 Guy Wooster, 69, of Iberia died Monday, Jan. 4, 1971, at the University of Missouri Medical Center in Columbia from burns suffered at his home on Jan 1. Mr. Wooster was born Aug. 23, 1901 in Crocker in Pulaski County, the son of James and Myrtle (Henderson) Wooster. He was married on Dec. 5, 1938 to Sadie Pilkington, who preceded him in death on Sept. 23, 1970. Mr. Wooster lived in Crocker, Mo., Oklahoma and Colorado, and has lived in Iberia since 1933, where he had worked for the Missouri Highway Department road crew until his retirement. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Iberia where he served as custodian and usher. Surviving are two brothers, Arthur Wooster of Edwardsville, Ill., and William Wooster of Rolla; one sister, Mrs. Ethel Keeth of Waterloo, Ia.; and nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Iberia with the Rev. August Williams and the Rev. Grady Etheridge officiating. Interment was in the Livingston Cemetery near Iberia under the direction of the Stevinson Funeral Home of Iberia. Pallbearers were members of his Sunday school class and Missouri Highway Department employees from Iberia.
