She leaves a husband, three daughters,an aged mother, five brothers, three sisters, and a host of friends to mourn her departure. She was a devoted wife and mother and a helping friend to every one. She will be greatly missed in the community where she lived for the many acts of charity and kindness denoted a true christian character. She died at the Wright Hospital following an operation for appendicitis. On Friday evening at 6:15 o'clock the gloom that hung like a pall over her home, deepened into the deepest sorrow, when the sad news was whispered that her spirit had taken its flight. Death triumphed over medical skill, and all the best of nursing, and tender care could do. the remains were taken to her home near Parkerton where the funeral was conducted by Rev. Roberts of the Christian Church. Interment was made at the Sires cemetery, there in the silent city, under weeping skies, was laid to rest to wait the resurrerction morn. God knows the way. He holds the key. He guides us with unerring hand; Sometime with tearless eyes we'll see, Yes there, up there we'll understand. (Obituary from the Trenton Daily Republican and Tribune Dec 20 1916.
