Her funeral will be10:30 Thursday AM at the United Church, Diagonal. Visitation will be Wednesday 7 to 8 PM at the Diagonal Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Bohemian Cemetery next to her second husband Victor 'Pete' Toman. Memorials may be directed to Hazel Hollinger Toman George Memorial Fund. Hazel Lucille Elston was born February 7, 1912, near Pleasanton, Iowa to Ernest and Vesta Still Elston. Her father passed away in 1920 when she was eight years old . Her mother re married in 1933 to Lawrence Graves Hazel married Oct 30, 1930 to Miles Hollinger, son of Harold 'Harry" and Maude Orey Hollinger. To this union their five children were born. They lived in the Pleasanton and Maloy area before coming to Diagonal. Miles passed away Nov 17, 1959 . In 1963 she married Victor 'Pete' Toman with whom she lived almost 20 happy rewarding years until his death in 1982. She married Art George in 1990 And he passed away in 1996. Hazel raised her children with love and going without herself sometimes to make sure they were educated and would have a good start in life. She worked several years for Diagonal businesses. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, bingo and was always ready for a game of cards.. She lived on the farm till this last year when she made the decision to move to town beside her daughter Myrt who cared for her a great deal the last few years. She was very proud of her children and enjoyed their children and grandchildren. She is survived by three sons, Harold 'Jock' and wife Hildred of Merrill, Ia, Robert and wife Marie of Mason City, Ia, George and wife Marilyn of Omaha, Nebraska, two daughters, Myrt and husband Don Synderof Diagonal, Ia , Jenny and husband Kayle 'Zim' Zimmerman of Lenox , Ia. . , thirteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and seven great, great grandchildren, two sisters, Anna Meyer of Mason City, Ia, Sara Foster of Ankeny, Ia, half-brother Billy Graves of Des Moines, Ia, and sister-in laws Elsie Jones of Trenton, Mo and Myrt Andrew of Lineville, Ia, .
