Hi! I am making a trip to Iowa this next week and would like to do some genealogy along the way on a very hard line I have been trying to solve. If anyone could help me out I will state where I am having troubles. I find two Bratton in the 1850 census in Farmington, Van Buren, IA that are living right next to each other. I believe they are brothers. One is William Bratton (a preacher, and it is unsure what church he is for but the census could be read Un Church) was born about 1815 in IA. William marries Martha Croxwell. He moves up to Mt. Pleasant and is there in the 1860 and 1870 census. I do not find him presiding over any of the churches in the directories for Mt. Pleasant. He names one of his sons Lemmons. After the 1870 census I lose William and am unable to find further trace of him. The other is Lemmons Bratton who was born 20 Mar 1815 in Wayne Co., IN. He died 13 or 15 Mar 1885 in Mercer Co, MO. I have his probate record there but do not know where he is buried. He names one of his sons William. In IA Lemmons lives in Farmington, Van Buren, IA; Fox River, Davis, IA; Lemona Decatur, IA and Monona, IA Lemmon lives in Lindley, Mercer, MO and one of his sons William Thomas is buried there. Lemmons marries Sibyl Cooper daughter of William Cooper and Nancy Batman. If anyone has any access to the graveyard information I would really like to find these two individuals gravesites. Betseylee
