According to records at Columbia, Mo., there was a school in Mercer County called Eureka. Since I can find no record of there ever having been a town by that name, I wonder if anyone can tell me where the school was located? My grandmother, Emma Elizabeth Beach, daughter of Orson C. Beach and Sarah Burnham, was (according to her second marriage certificate) born at Eureka, Mercer Co., MO. on Sept 15, 1866. Her mother died Jan. 16, 1867 in same place. Have not found a death record for Sarah Burnham Beach, nor proof of birth for Emma Elizabeth Beach Brown Hickman. Can anyone help me? Thank you. Ila Brown LaRue
