    3. Betsey, I do Brittain research and have run across the Bratton line. You will find them buried in a cemetery on the Harrison - Mercer County line (of which I don't have the name at my fingertips right now). I will e-mail you back within the next few days with that information. Both Harrison County, just to the west of Mercer County, and Mercer County have excellent genealogical societies. I too am curious about Lemmons Bratton - the Brittain line married into a Lemmons line around Grundy County, just south of Mercer County. There is a William T., son of L. & S. BRATTAIN, died Feb. 8, 1881, aged 28y 5 m 29 d, buried in the Freedom Cemetery in Mercer County, MO. The Freedom Cem. is located in Lindley Township in the north central portion on the township, in the northwest portion of Mercer County. 3. Hi! I am really hopeful that you have found them. Which Brittain's are you researching? I have collected various Brattain records along the way. On every census my Bratton give a different state as to where their parents were born. I think it is NC but they also list Kentucky. I know of a Brattain page at myfamily.com that is available. If you would like to be on it I could add you. I know Lemmons is a family name. I bet Lemmons Bratton's mother was a Lemmons. I am planning on visiting William's grave in Freedom Cemetery. My mother-in-law stopped there once. She didn't take a picture of the grave however. This is actually my husband's side that I have worked on for quite a while. I am having a tough time solving it. I came up with another spelling of Croxwell, maybe.. In the 1860 census William has an 11 year old girl by the name of Martha Cracksoll living with him. She was born in IA. Thanks for your help. I look forward to the name of the cemetery that Brattains are buried in. Betseylee "Randalin R. Ferguson" wrote: > Betsey, > > I do Brittain research and have run across the Bratton line.
