They moved to Livingston Co., Mo. in 1869 from Grant Co., Ind. and are listed in the 1870 census. He is not in the 1880 census. His oldest son, James Walker and his wife, Nancy Ann Weddle lived in Alfa where he was a blacksmith and they are both buried in the Groff Cemetary. Although my mother in law never met Alva and Catherine as they were deceased when she married James Franklin, my father-in-law, she thought Alva was buried in Mercer or Grundy Co. so he must have died around that area as all of her information came from her husband.
