Decatur County Journal Leon, Iowa November 5, l903 PRINCETON POST: MISS MARY RAY died at the home of her sister, MRS. J.G. PRICHARD, in this city, Wednesday evening, October 28, at 7 o'clock. She had been sick about two months. She was taken sick with typhoid fever while at Kansas City, and MR. PRICHARD went to that city and brought her to his home so that she might have better care. She had almost recovered from that attack and was able to be up some when other complications set in, resulting in her death. MARY CATHERINE RAY was born in Chariton, Iowa, February l4, l867. At an early age, she moved with her parents to Leon, Iowa, where she grew to womanhood. Her parents are dead. She leaves one sister, MRS. PRICHARD of this city, and two brothers to mourn her death. MISS RAY was well known in this city and had many friends to mourn her loss. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The remains were brought to Leon Friday and the funeral held from the residence of A.J. ALLEN the next day, conducted by Rev. W.M. Gardner, and interment was in the Leon Cemetery. Many floral offerings were brought by loving friends. Those from a distance who attended the funeral were: MR. and MRS. JOE PRICHARD, OLIN PRICHARD, MISS LOIS COCKRELL, MISS DOLLIE STECKMAN, Princeton; WILL RAY, Atchison, Kansas; B.F. BATES, MRS. R.B.
