I have very little information on her. Family records indicate that she was born in Mercer Co., MO 8/23/1862. I believe that her father, ____ O'NEIL, probably migrated from Ireland. Apparantly he served in the civil war and was not around much. The story goes that Mary Katherine was raised by her grandparents. I believe that her grandfather was a local judge, either William WOOD or WARD. Mary Katherines mother's name may have been Judy. Mary Katherine O'NEIL married my grandfather, Newton MOORE in 1879. I know they lived in Appanoose Co., Iowa, and then moved to Bates, Co., MO. They had 10 children. My father was James L.
